Brake Pad Kit - Front (Remove and Replace)

Dépose
- Remove the front wheels (voir la procédure).

Remove the pad retaining pins and collect the anti-rattle spring.
NoteAlways check that the anti-rattle clip has not been damaged. This part is easily damaged and is important to help eliminate squeaks.
- Use the caliper spreader tool or similar tool to gently push the pistons back into the caliper.

Remove the brake pads from the caliper.
- Check that the caliper pad slides are dirt free and the seals are in good condition.
- Repeat steps 2-5 on the other side of the vehicle.
Installation
La procédure d’installation est l’inverse de la procédure de retrait, à l’exception de ce qui suit :

Nettoyez les zones touchées avant l'installation.
- Thoroughly clean the caliper pad
slides and abutments with a the disc brake caliper brush (tool part number
1115240-00-A) and brake cleaner.CAUTIONIf there is rust or pitting on the caliper that cannot be removed with a hand brush, replace the caliper (voir la procédure).
- Apply an even layer of Silaramic
lubricant (1063021-00-A) to the caliper pad slides and between the shim and the
backing plate. Remove any excess lubricant.CAUTIONEnsure that the brake pads move freely.CAUTIONDo not apply copper paste to the caliper, seals, or any component other than the shim and backing plate.
- Pump the brake pedal at least 5 times to seat the pads against the brake rotors.WarningVérifiez toujours que les plaquettes de frein sont bien en place avant de conduire le véhicule.
- Top off the brake fluid level as required. CAUTIONSi vous renversez du liquide de frein sur une surface peinte, lavez-la immédiatement avec de l'eau propre.
- Lisser les plaquettes de frein. Voir Plaquettes de frein - Rodage.
