Retirar

  1. Move the vehicle to a 2 post lift. See Elevación del vehículo - 2 caballetes.
  2. Disconnect the LV battery power. See Alimentación de baja tensión (Desconexión y conexión).
  3. Remove mid aero shield. See Aero Shield - Middle (Remove and Replace)
  4. Pull the red tab, and then pull the red tab again to disconnect the rear subframe harness from the rear drive unit oil pump connector.
  5. Remove the fill plug from the oil pump.

  6. Position an oil drain collector under the rear drive unit oil pump.
  7. Remove the drain plug from the oil pump.

  8. Allow 10 minutes for the oil to drain naturally until it reaches the droplet stage.
  9. Install the drain plug from the oil pump.
    15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)

  10. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the rear drive unit oil pump to the rear drive unit.

  11. Use a plastic pry tool to separate the rear drive unit oil pump from the rear drive unit, remove the oil pump, and allow the fluid to drain.

Instalar

  1. Apply a light coat of ATF-9 oil to the O-rings of the rear drive unit oil pump, and then wipe away any excess oil.
  2. Position the oil pump to the rear drive unit.

  3. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the rear drive unit oil pump to the rear drive unit.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft) + 20 deg

  4. Fill a 3000mL measuring container with 2.5L/2500mL of KAF1 gearbox fluid.

    Nota
    The rear drive unit requires 2.3L/2300mL of fluid, however the excess fluid will prevent underfill and air entrapment.
  5. Connect the 12V power supply to the oil pump.
  6. Install the hoses onto the fluid transfer pump.
  7. Place the measuring container and the fluid transfer pump into the oil drain basket.
  8. Insert the output hose of the fluid transfer pump into the fill hole of the rear drive unit until fully seated, then pull back 5 mm.
  9. Fully submerge the input hose of the fluid transfer pump into the measuring container.
  10. Pump 2.3L/2300mL of KAF1 gearbox fluid into the rear drive unit.

    Recommend an assistant to perform this step; the assistant will run oil pump switchbox using XP-10 Jump Pack and have the fill plug ready for installation.

    Make sure the input hose end remains submerged, so that air is not pumped into the gearbox.

    When properly filled, there should be 200mL or less of gearbox fluid left in the measuring containter.
  11. Remove the output hose from the rear drive unit.
  12. Install the fill plug from the oil pump.
    15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)

  13. Put on face shielding PPE.
  14. Spray the working area of the rear drive unit with brake cleaner, and then wipe off residual fluid with a clean shop towel.
  15. Disconnect the 12V power supply tool from the oil pump.
  16. Connect the oil pump connector.
  17. Remove the oil drain collector out from under the rear drive unit.
  18. Install mid aero shield. See Aero Shield - Middle (Remove and Replace)
  19. Connect the LV battery power. See Alimentación de baja tensión (Desconexión y conexión).
  20. Reinstall vehicle software. See Reinstalación de software - Pantalla táctil.
  21. Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Conexión y desconexión).
  22. On the laptop, select Actions tab, and search for "Oil Pump Low Pressure Test - Rear Drive Unit". Select TEST-SELF_DIR_X_OIL-PUMP-PRESSUREvia Toolbox: (link), click Run, and allow the routine to complete.
  23. Disconnect the laptop.
  24. Exit Service Mode. See Modo de servicio.
  25. Raise LH front window and close LH front door.
  26. Remove the vehicle from the 2 post lift. See Elevación del vehículo - 2 caballetes.
