Procedure
- Set up the A/C machine.
- Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Deflector aerodinámico - Delantero (Desinstalación y sustitución).
- Put a coolant catcher below the RH front of the vehicle.
- Enable Service Mode. See Modo de servicio (Activación y desactivación).
- Unlock the vehicle Gateway. See Puerta de enlace (Desbloquear).

Run Start Thermal Fluid Fill/Drain through the touchscreen.
NotaTouch , touch Run, and allow the routine to complete. The Thermal Fill Drain routine has a 5 hour time limit, after 5 hours routine must be performed again.
- Disconnect LV power. See Alimentación de baja tensión (Desconexión y conexión).
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Unidad de almacenamiento del vano del motor (Desinstalación e instalación).
- Remove the LV battery. See Batería - Baja tensión (Desinstalación y sustitución).
- Remove the HEPA filter cover assembly. See Filtro - HEPA (Desinstalación y sustitución).
- Recover the refrigerant. See Refrigerante del aire acondicionado (Recuperación y recarga).
- Remove the front body controller. See Módulo - Controlador de la carrocería - Parte delantera (Desinstalación y sustitución) or Módulo - Controlador de la carrocería - Parte delantera (a partir de 2025) (Desinstalación y sustitución) .
- After recovery is complete, remove the A/C hoses from the vehicle and release the vacuum in the system by pressing the schrader valves.
- Remove the coolant bottle cap.

Put a fluid extractor in front of the vehicle.

Evacuate coolant from the coolant bottle.
NotaPump fluid into the Mityvac evacuator. Maneuver the tube in the coolant bottle during evacuation to evacuate as much fluid as possible.

Disconnect the coolant bottle level sensor connector.
-
Place a shop towel on top of the front drive unit heat exchanger below the plastic coolant manifold.

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the supermanifold to the multi-system beam and slowly rest it on the front drive unit.
NotaSupport from underneath and rest on rag atop heat exchanger.

Release the bolts (x4) that attach the multi-system beam.
-
Put a rag underneath the RH and LH side of the multi-system beam.
NotaLift the multi-system beam up only the amount required to clear the reservoir fill neck between the top of the supermanifold and the bottom of the beam.

Disconnect powertrain supply hose connector.
-
Disconnect the powertrain supply hose from the supermanifold.
NotaPlug supermanifold and powertrain supply hose.
-
Disconnect the HV battery return hose from the supermanifold.
-
Disconnect the chiller to battery hose from the supermanifold.
-
Remove the clips that attach the heat pump harness at the bottom of the coolant bottle.
NotaAccess from the RH side of the supermanifold.
-
Remove the screw at the rear of the coolant bottle securing the coolant bottle to supermanifold
NotaAccess from RH side of supermanifold, Loosen the screw and remove with a magnet.

Remove the screw that attaches the coolant bottle to the supermanifold at the front of the coolant bottle.
-
Remove the coolant bottle from the supermanifold.
NotaRemove by sliding the bottle away from the supermanifold towards the rear of the vehicle, and rotate the top out.

Remove and discard the snap ring of the liquid cooled condenser check valve from the supermanifold.
-
Remove liquid cooled condenser check valve from the supermanifold.
NotaIf the check valve separates from the aluminum cap during removal, do not use metal tools to remove the check valve. Metal tools may scrape the supermanifold housing causing internal damage. Use your fingers or wrap electrical tape around a 90 degree pick.

Install the new liquid cooled condenser check valve into the supermanifold.
NotaUse ND-11 oil to lubricate the O-rings. Seat the valve past the snap ring groove.

Install the new snap ring of the liquid cooled condenser check valve into the supermanifold.
NotaInstall the new snap ring. Make sure that the snap ring is properly seated inside the groove in the supermanifold.

Inspect the coolant bottle. Make sure that both the spacer and O-ring are present and seated before installation. Lubricate the coolant bottle O-ring.

Position the coolant bottle onto the supermanifold.
NotaSlide the bottle between the multi-system beam and the top of the supermanifold. Engage the bottle fully into the coolant manifold.

Install the screw that attaches the coolant bottle to the supermanifold at the front of the coolant bottle.
5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft) -
Install screw at the rear of the coolant bottle that attaches the coolant bottle to the supermanifold.
5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft) -
Attach the clips (x2) that hold the heat pump harness at the bottom of the coolant bottle.

Install the bolts (x4) that attach the multi-system beam to the vehicle.
60 Nm (44.2 lbs-ft)NotaPosition the beam and start the bolts by hand. -
Install the bolts (x2) that attach the supermanifold to the multi-system beam.
31 Nm (22.9 lbs-ft)NotaSupport from underneath, hand start bolts to supermanifold. Remove shop towel from heat exchanger. -
Connect the chiller to battery hose to the supermanifold.
NotaPerform a push-pull-push test to make sure that the hose is fully seated.

Connect the HV battery return hose to the supermanifold.
NotaPerform a push-pull-push test to make sure that the hose is fully seated.

Connect the powertrain supply hose to the supermanifold.
NotaPerform a push-pull-push test to make sure that the hose is fully seated.

Install the connector for the powertrain supply hose sensor.
-
Install the coolant bottle level sensor and attach the harness.
-
Remove the nut that attaches the discharge line to the compressor.
-
Remove the nut that attaches the suction line to the compressor.
-
Remove the A/C manifold line from the supermanifold and remove the A/C manifold line assembly out of the vehicle.
-
Disconnect the high pressure PT sensor connector.
-
Disconnect the connector from the electronic expansion valve recirc.
-
Disconnect the connector from the electronic expansion valve liquid cooled condenser.
-
Disconnect the connector from the shut off valve liquid cooled condenser.
-
Disconnect the connector from the electronic expansion valve cabin condenser right.
-
Disconnect the connector from the High pressure PT sub cool sensor.
-
Disconnect the connector from the electronic expansion valve cabin condenser left.
-
Disconnect the electronic expansion valve chiller connector.
-
Disconnect the connector from the electronic expansion valve evap.
-
Move the thermal sub harness assembly away from the supermanifold.
-
Remove and discard the snap ring of the cabin condenser check valve from the supermanifold.
-
Remove the cabin condenser check valve from the supermanifold.
NotaIf the check valve separates from the aluminum cap during removal, do not use metal tools. Metal tools may scrape the supermanifold housing causing internal damage. Use your fingers or wrap electrical tape around a 90 degree pick.

Install the new cabin condenser check valve into the supermanifold.
NotaUse ND-11 oil to lubricate O-rings. Seat the valve past the snap ring groove.

Install the new snap ring for the cabin condenser check valve into the supermanifold.
NotaMake sure that the snap ring is properly seated inside the groove in the supermanifold.

Remove and discard the evaporator check valve snap ring from the supermanifold.
-
Remove the evaporator check valve from the supermanifold.
NotaIf the check valve separates from the aluminum cap during removal, do not use metal tools. Metal tools may scrape the supermanifold housing causing internal damage. Use your fingers or wrap electrical tape around a 90 degree pick.

Install the new evaporator check valve into the supermanifold.
NotaUse ND-11 oil to lubricate O-rings. Seat the valve past the snap ring groove.

Install the new evaporator check valve snap ring into the supermanifold.
NotaMake sure that the snap ring is properly seated inside the groove in the supermanifold.

Connect the connector for the electronic expansion valve evap.
-
Install the connector for the electronic expansion valve chiller.

Install the connector for the electronic expansion valve cabin condenser left.
-
Install the connector for the electronic expansion valve right.
-
Install the connector to the High pressure PT sub cool sensor.
-
Install the connector for the shut off valve liquid cooled condenser.
-
Install the connector for the electronic expansion valve liquid cooled condenser.
-
Install the connector for the electronic expansion valve recirc.
-
Install the connector for the high pressure PT sensor.
-
Replace the seal washer on the supermanifold to compressor A/C line assembly on the compressor discharge line.
NotaLube seal washer with ND-11 oil.

Replace the seal washer on the supermanifold to compressor A/C line assembly on the compressor suction line.

Replace the seal washers for the supermanifold to compressor A/C line on the supermanifold side.

Install the bolt that attaches the A/C manifold line to the supermanifold.
22 Nm (16.2 lbs-ft)NotaInspect the O-rings and replace them if damaged. Hand start the bolt to prevent stripped threads. -
Install the nut that attaches the supermanifold to compressor suction line to the compressor.

Install the nut that attaches the supermanifold to compressor discharge line to the compressor.
22 Nm (16.2 lbs-ft) -
Install the nuts (x2) that attach the supermanifold to compressor suction and discharge line to the compressor.
22 Nm (16.2 lbs-ft) - Perform system vacuum and refrigerant refill. See Refrigerante del aire acondicionado (Recuperación y recarga).
- Install the front body controller module. See Módulo - Controlador de la carrocería - Parte delantera (Desinstalación y sustitución) or Módulo - Controlador de la carrocería - Parte delantera (a partir de 2025) (Desinstalación y sustitución).
- Install the HEPA filter assembly cover. See Filtro - HEPA (Desinstalación y sustitución).
- Install the LV battery. See Batería - Baja tensión (Desinstalación y sustitución).
- Remove the A/C hoses from the vehicle.
- Perform a coolant vacuum refill. See Sistema de refrigeración (Llenado por vacío).
- Connect LV power. See Alimentación de baja tensión (Desconexión y conexión).
- Unlock the vehicle Gateway. See Puerta de enlace (Desbloquear)

On the touchscreen, touch , and then touch Run, and allow the routine to complete.
NotaWait until coolant pumps stop running (audible noise). Routine Passed will appear, but pumps will run for 10 minutes. If you start another routine during this time, it will fail. Make sure that the vehicle is not in "Drive". Routine is still running despite the completed message. Speeds can be monitored in Garage under PT Thermal tab. Idle speed = ~1500 RPM. Test will vary speeds from 3500-6500 RPM and actuate valves between SERIES and PARALLEL. Putting the vehicle into "Drive" will stop this routine. If speeds hover at 7000 RPM, this indicates the pumps are air locked. Perform a vacuum fill. Continue to add coolant and purge until the coolant level reaches between the NOM and MAX Lines on the bottle.

Inspect the coolant level and top off as necessary.
NotaMake sure that the fluid level is at the Max line.
- Install the coolant bottle cap.
