Wishbone Assembly - Rear - Upper - LH

Correction code 31031602

Remove

  1. Raise and support vehicle.

    Do not work on an incorrectly supported vehicle.

  2. Remove the wheel (torque 105 Nm).
  3. Disconnect wheel speed sensor multiplug, unclip harness from bracket and remove cable ties (x2).
  4. Remove bolts (x2) securing ball joint carrier to upright. Move wheel speed sensor bracket aside and collect shims (torque 68 Nm).

    Always record quantity and fitted position of shims, washers, locktabs or clips.

    Note
    When installing, apply Loctite®242™ thread locking compound to bolt/screw threads.
  5. Release wishbone fixing lock tabs (x4) from bolts.

    Always record quantity and fitted position of shims, washers, locktabs or clips.
  6. Remove nuts and pivot bolts (x2) securing wishbone to subframe, collect lock tabs (torque 45 Nm).

  7. Remove upper wishbone.
  8. Remove Nyloc nut securing ball joint carrier to wishbone (torque 55 Nm).
  9. Using a suitable tool release ball joint carrier from wishbone.

    To avoid serious injury, use appropriate equipment to carry out this operation.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

CAUTION
Only tighten wishbone pivot bolts when the suspension is in ride height position. This can be achieved by either using the ride height tools or when the vehicle is on its wheels.

CAUTION

Replace all nyloc nuts.

  1. Perform a wheel alignment.
