Remove

  1. Make sure that park brake is applied and transmission is in 'P' Park (starter key is removed).
  2. Remove wheel center cap.
  3. Remove and discard hub nut.
  4. Raise and support vehicle.

    Do not work on an incorrectly supported vehicle.

  5. Remove the wheel (torque 105 Nm).
  6. Disengage park brake.
  7. Disconnect park brake inner cable from caliper lever.
  8. Release cable rubber seal and disconnect park brake outer cable from caliper.
  9. Release brake hose clip from track control arm.
  10. Remove upper bolt securing caliper to upright (torque 45 Nm). Use the Service S-hook tool to hang the caliper.

    When installing, apply Loctite®242™ thread locking compound to bolt/screw threads.
  11. Remove lower bolt securing caliper to upright (torque 25 Nm).

    When installing, apply Loctite®242™ thread locking compound to bolt/screw threads.
  12. Release caliper from upright and tie aside.
  13. Remove screw securing brake disc to hub (torque 20 Nm).
  14. Remove brake disc.
  15. Disconnect wheel speed sensor and release from brackets.
  16. Remove bolts (x3) securing hub to upright and remove wheel speed sensor bracket (torque 90 Nm).

    Note
    When installing, apply Loctite®242™ thread locking compound to bolt/screw threads.
  17. Release driveshaft from hub and remove hub from upright.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  1. Clean mating faces of hub and disc.
  2. Install the wheel.
  3. Lower vehicle to floor and chock the wheel.
  4. Pump brake pedal at least 5 times.

    Always check that brake pads are seated correctly before driving the vehicle.
  5. Install hub nut. Initially tighten nut to 150 Nm. Loosen nut 45 degrees and then torque to 250 Nm.

    CAUTION
    To prevent possible transmission damage do not force against the parking pawl when loosening or tightening the hub nut.
  6. Replace wheel center cap.
