Driveshaft Assembly - LH

Correction code 47150102

Remove

  1. Make sure that park brake is applied and transmission is in 'P' Park position (starter key removed).
  2. Remove wheel center cap.
  3. Remove and discard hub nut (torque 250 Nm).
  4. Raise vehicle on 2 post lift (refer to procedure).
  5. Remove the wheel (torque 105 Nm).
  6. Remove bolts (x5) securing rear diffuser tray to rear diffuser trim (torque 8 Nm).
  7. Remove rear diffuser tray.
  8. Drain transmission fluid (refer to procedure).
  9. Disconnect park brake inner cable from caliper lever.
  10. Release cable rubber seal and disconnect park brake outer cable from caliper.
  11. Remove nut securing brake hose P-clips to lower wishbone and release P-clip (torque 9 Nm).
  12. Remove nut and bolt securing damper to subframe (torque 45 Nm). Release from subframe.
  13. Remove nut securing sway bar link to wishbone (torque 45 Nm). Release link from wishbone.
  14. Remove bolt securing lower wishbone to crossmember (torque 45 Nm).
  15. Remove bolt securing lower wishbone and track control arm to subframe (torque 60 Nm).
  16. Using tool 1000991 (Driveshaft Extractor), release driveshaft from transmission.

    Note
    Place suitable absorbent material around the affected area to absorb any possible fluid spillage.
  17. Pull lower wishbone outwards and withdraw driveshaft from transmission. Position driveshaft aside.

    CAUTION
    Plug driveshaft apertures in transmission to prevent ingress of dirt or moisture.

    CAUTION
    To avoid damage to the driveshaft oil seals, exercise caution when installing drive shafts into transmission.
  18. Remove driveshaft from hub.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

CAUTION
Only tighten wishbone pivot bolts when the suspension is in ride height position. This can be achieved by either using the ride height tools or when the vehicle is on its wheels.
  1. Refill transmission with recommended fluid (refer to procedure).
