Vehicle Electrical Isolation Procedure

Correction code 16010002

Remove

  1. Make sure that the starter key is removed.
  2. Inhibit the APS via the touch screen.Power Electronics Module (PEM) - Roadster 2.x
  3. Remove LH rear forward wheel arch liner (refer to procedure).
  4. Lift latch on service plug then pull from the socket on the battery.

    CAUTION
    To prevent damage to the APS fuse located within the battery, the service plug should be removed and installed in one smooth and deliberate operation.

    CAUTION
    To prevent damage to the APS fuse located within the battery, wait at least 60 seconds before reinstalling the service plug.
  5. Remove security screws (x4) securing access panel to the Power Electronics Module (torque - 3.5 Nm).
  6. Remove panel.
  7. Read safety information label.
  8. Lift safety label and open tags to retain in open position.
  9. Measure the following voltages:

    Ensure that the multimeter and leads are capable of handling at least 500V.

    Warning
    Do not use a probe with an exposed tip length that is greater than 3 mm.
    • B+ to ground
    • B- to ground
    • B+ to B-

    Warning
    If any voltage reading is more than 10V, contact Service Engineering before performing any further

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal.
