Note

This procedure is only valid for Roadster 2.x. Roadster 1.5 uses a self-learning TPMS.

Learn IDs

  1. Park the vehicle away from other vehicles.
  2. Turn on the Tesla SmarTool (1013547-00-A) and select menu item 3 - Wakeup ID.
  3. Starting with the front left wheel, hold the tool against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem, and press Enter.

    Note

    The tool will ping the sensor and read its unique ID. If the sensor does not respond, then repeat this step.

  4. Repeat the previous step for the front right, rear right, and rear left wheels, in that order.
  5. Once the last ID has been read, press the Down arrow on the tools keypad. The small arrow on the display pointing to the rear left wheel ID will flip and point to Exit. Press Enter on the keypad to exit to the main menu.
  6. Use the OBD-II adapter to connect the tool to the vehicle.

    The OBD-II port is located in the driver footwell area.

  7. Turn on the vehicle.
  8. Select Write ID, then select K line. The tool displays SUCCEED after writing the IDs.
  9. Press the ESC button to return to the main menu.
  10. Select Read ID, then select K line. The tool displays the serial numbers.
  11. Turn off the vehicle.
  12. Disconnect the Tesla SmarTool from the vehicle.
