    CAUTION
Do not over tighten adapter to avoid damaging the threads on the reservoir.
  2. Align the vacuum refill to 1001019 (Cooling System Vacuum Refill Tool) to adapter on reservoir. Holding the reservoir adapter in place, rotate the collar on the vacuum refill tool clockwise to lock the tool onto the adapter.
  3. Make sure that air inlet valve (A) and coolant refill valve (B) are in their closed positions.
  4. Connect an air line with a minimum pressure of 5.5 bar (80 PSI) to the vacuum refill tool.
  5. Place end of overflow hose in a suitable container to collect any coolant that may be drawn out of the system when the vacuum is applied.
  6. Open the air inlet valve (A). You will hear a hissing noise as the Venturi effect creates a vacuum in the system.
  7. With the air inlet valve open, evacuate the system for approximately 1 to 2 minutes until either the vacuum gauge reaches the green range (24 -26" Hg) or it stops rising.
  8. Close air inlet valve (A) and monitor the gauge for approximately 30 seconds to make sure that the vacuum is maintained and the system has no leaks.

    Note
If the gauge reading drops, it signifies that there is a leak in the system that must be rectified before refilling with coolant.
  9. Position a container of coolant at, or as close as possible to the height of the coolant reservoir. Use the recommended coolant and make sure thatit has been mixed to the proper concentration level.
  10. Place end of coolant refill hose into container holding coolant. Make sure that the end is fully submerged.
  11. Slowly open coolant refill valve (B) and allow coolant to be drawn into the refill hose. Close the valve when the hose is full.
  12. Because the vacuum in the system will have dropped, reopen air inlet valve (A) and allow the vacuum to increase to its previous level. Close the valve.
  13. Open coolant refill valve (B) and allow coolant to be drawn into the system.
Warning IconA warning icon, calling your attention to a possibly risky situation
    CAUTION
Make sure that container contains more coolant than the system will require and that the end of the refill hose remains submerged, to prevent air from being drawn into the system.
  14. Once the system has been filled to achieve the correct level in the reservoir, close the coolant refill valve.
  15. Rotate collar on vacuum refill tool counterclockwise to release tool from the adapter on reservoir. Remove tool.
  16. Remove adapter from coolant reservoir.
  17. Activate the APS via the touch screen.
  18. Activate coolant pump by either turning the starter switch to the ON position or charging the vehicle. Allow the pump to run for at least 15 minutes.
  19. Top-up coolant reservoir, if required.
  20. Test drive vehicle then check and top-up coolant level if required.
