Compressor - Roadster 2.x

Remove

  1. Remove solenoid valve (refer to procedure).
  2. Remove blower assembly (refer to procedure).
  3. Remove compressor high pressure pipe (refer to procedure).

    CAUTION
    Plug pipe connections to prevent ingress of moisture or dirt.
  4. Disconnect compressor high voltage connector. LH drive illustrated.
  5. Previous step is different to RH drive.
  6. Disconnect compressor low voltage connector.
  7. Remove nuts (x3) securing compressor to mounting bracket (torque 4 Nm).

    CAUTION

    Replace all nyloc nuts.

  8. Maneuver compressor to provide access to earth point.
  9. Collect washers (x3).
  10. Remove bolt and disconnect earth ground point from compressor (torque 25 Nm).
  11. Remove compressor.

Install

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

  1. Check compressor mountings are secure on bracket studs. If any mounting is loose, it must be removed and recommended thread locking compound applied to the female threads before refitting and tightening by hand.
