Amplifier - Audio - External (Model YL) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Open the liftgate.
  3. Fold the 3rd row seatback down.

    Note
    Protect the seat back upholstery from any potential scratch or damage.
  4. Open the RH rear door and lower the RH rear window.
  5. Move the RH 2nd row seat forward.

    Adjust the seat back if needed.
  6. Disconnect the LV battery. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  7. Remove the RH C-pillar lower trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  8. Release the clips (x14), locator pins (x2), and tabs (x2) that attach the RH trunk side trim to the body.

    Note
    This is to aid the removal of the C-pillar upper trim.
  9. Release the clips (x10), locator pins (x4), and tabs (x3) that attach the RH C-pillar upper trim to the body.
  10. Remove the nut that attaches the audio amplifier to the body.

    TIp
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  11. Release the clip and tabs (x2) that attach the audio amplifier to the body.
  12. Disconnect the audio amplifier connectors (x4), and then remove the audio amplifier from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Connect the audio amplifier connectors (x4).
  2. Install the clip and tabs (x2) that attach the audio amplifier to the body.
  3. Install the nut that attaches the audio amplifier to the body.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
  4. Install the clips (x10), locator pins (x4), and tabs (x3) that attach the RH C-pillar upper trim to the body.

    Note
    While installing the upper trim, make sure that the air vent is properly installed.

    Note
    After installation, make sure that the seal fully covers the edge of the trim.
  5. Install the clips (x14), locator pins (x2), and tabs (x2) that attach the RH trunk side trim to the body.

    After installation, make sure that the seal fully covers the edge of the trim.
  6. Install the RH C-pillar lower trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  7. Connect the LV battery. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  8. Move the RH 2nd row seat back to its original position.
  9. Raise the RH rear window and close the RH rear door.
  10. Move the 3rd row seatback back to its original position.
  11. Close the liftgate.
  12. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
