Shell - Seat Back - Driver Seat (Model YL) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the driver seat headrest. See Headrest Pad Assembly - 1st Row Seat (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  2. Release the locking pin, and then slide the headrest base downwards to its lowest position
  3. Release the top clips (x2) that attach the driver seat back shell to the seat back frame, and then release the spring clips (x2) that attach the driver seat back headrest frame mechanism assembly to the seat back frame, and at the same time, slide the headrest base back to its original position.
  4. Release the straps (x2) that attach the shell apron to the underside of the seat, and then move the straps away from the underside of the seat.
  5. Remove the driver seat back shell from the driver seat back frame.
    1. Push inwards and pull back to release the bottom clips (x2) on both sides of the driver seat back shell.
    2. Pull the shell away from the top of the seat to release the upper clips, and then work downwards to release the remaining clips.

    CAUTION
    Take care not to damage the seat covers. Move the seat if needed.

Install

  1. Install the bottom clips (x2) on both sides of the driver seat back shell, and then rotate the shell up into position to install the rest of clips that attach the driver seat back shell to the driver seat back frame.

    Note
    Apply light pressure to ensure the seat back shell is fully seated.

    When the shell is installed, the headrest posts will be engaged.
  2. Hook the straps (x2) onto the driver seat suspension.
  3. Install the spring clips (x2) that attach the driver seat back headrest frame mechanism assembly to the seat back frame.

    Make sure that the headrest frame mechanism assembly is fully seated.
