Reuse

Remove

  1. Place the vehicle on the 2-post lift.

    Ensure the vehicle is not charging.
  2. Remove the HEPA filter assembly. See HEPA Filter Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH wiper bracket pencil brace. See Pencil Brace - Wiper Bracket - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Release the front upper control arm from the knuckle. See Control Arm - Upper - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).

    Note
    No need to release the front upper control arm mount from the body.
  5. Remove the bolt and nut that attach the LH front lower lateral link to the strut.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  6. Remove the nuts (x3) that attach the LH front damper assembly to the LH front upper control arm mount.

    • 13 mm socket
  7. Push the bottom of the damper coil inward, and then remove it from above.

    Note
    Avoid damaging the half shaft while removing.

Install

  1. Place the LH front damper coil to the vehicle, push its bottom then top inward.

  2. Hand tighten the bolt and nut that attach the LH strut to the LH front lower lateral link.
  3. Install the nuts (x3) that attach the LH front damper assembly to the LH front upper control arm mount.
    23 Nm (17.0 lbs-ft)

    • 13 mm socket
  4. Install the front upper control arm. See Control Arm - Upper - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the LH wiper bracket pencil brace. See Pencil Brace - Wiper Bracket - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the HEPA filter assembly. See HEPA Filter Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the vehicle from the lift.
  8. Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
