Remove
- Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.

Move the driver seat forward.
WarningAdjust the seat back if needed and avoid contacting other components.

Insert the seat belt release key
(1493782-00-A) into the bottom of the seat belt pretensioner coupling to release the
seat belt from the pretensioner.

Move the driver seat cushion to its highest position.
WarningAdjust the seat back if needed and avoid contacting other components.

Remove the bolt that attaches the driver seat outboard side shield assembly to the
seat assembly.
NoteEnsure the front of the seat is high enough to access the bolt.TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket

Pull the driver seat outboard side
shield assembly away from the seat frame to release the tab that attaches the side
shield assembly to the front of the seat frame.
WarningDo not fully remove the side shield at this time as this might damage the trim, switch pack or and/or harness.

Pull the driver seat outboard side
shield assembly away from the seat frame to release the clips (x2) that attach the side
shield assembly to the center of the seat frame.
NoteRelease the lower clip first, and then remove the upper positioning clip.WarningDo not fully remove the side shield assembly at this time as this might damage the trim, switch pack or and/or harness.

Disconnect the driver seat switch connectors (x2).

Pull the rear of the outboard side shield assembly outward and then upward to release
the clips (x4) that attach the driver seat outboard side shield assembly to the vehicle,
and then remove the outboard side shield assembly from the vehicle.
Install

Align the side shield assembly with
the contour of the seat back, and then apply light pressure to the rear of the side
shield assembly to seat it fully on the seat frame.

Connect the driver seat switch connectors (x2).

Push the driver seat outboard side shield assembly towards the seat frame to install
the clips (x2) that attach the side shield assembly to the center of the seat
frame.
NoteInstall the upper positioning clip first, and then install the lower clip.CAUTIONEnsure the trim and the switch are not damaged.

Push the driver seat outboard side shield assembly towards the seat frame to install
the tab that attaches the side shield assembly to the front of the seat frame.

Install the bolt that attaches the driver seat outboard side shield assembly to the
seat assembly.
5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 8 mm socket
- Move the driver seat back to its original position.

Install the LH front seatbelt pretensioner coupling onto the LH front seat
pretensioner.
NotePerform a pull-push-pull test to verify the pretensioner and coupling are fully engaged.
- Raise the LH windows and close the LH doors.
