The C–Pillar Reinforcement (shown below) is a single component, and can be replaced as a single repair:

Alternatively, instead of replacing the complete C–Pillar Reinforcement, the lower portion of the C–Pillar Reinforcement can be replaced using the cut line described in this document.

Note
Create a backing plate from the remaining portion of the new component, and install it as indicated.

Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the necessary portion of the Quarter Outer Skin to expose the underlying component being replaced.
  2. Remove the original component.

  3. Prepare for installation.
  4. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  5. Install the new component or components.
  6. Install the portion of the Quarter Outer Skin that was removed to expose the component being replaced.
  7. Install the fasteners as indicated.

    • D = 15 mm.

  8. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
