Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the Carrier - Rocker Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the MXP2 BODY - Bumper and Fascia - Rear Bumper Fascia - Rear Wing Bracket - LH (RR).
  4. Remove the Trim - Liftgate Trough - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the Taillight Assembly - RH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the Charger (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the Absorber - Wheelhouse - Rear - RH (Remove & Replace).
  8. Remove the Insulator - Wheelhouse - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the Charge Port (Type 2) (Remove and Replace).
  10. Remove the Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the Trim - Rear Trunk - Rear Wall (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the Glass - Rear Quarter Window - LH (Remove and Install).
  13. Remove the Taillight Assembly - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Remove the Fascia Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install).
  15. Remove the following components from the service part to make the new component.
    • 1 - C-Pillar Reinforcement
    • 2 - Rear Quarter Outer Upper Extension
    • 3 - Rear Lamp Lower Housing
    • 4 - Lamp Housing Assembly
    • 5 - Rear Quarter Outer Lower
  16. Remove the original component.

    Note
    When drilling out spot welds, use a drill bit that creates a hole correctly sized for the fastener that will replace the spot weld.

  17. Prepare for installation.
    Note
    A red X indicates a location where a factory-installed fastener is not being replaced. Secure this location using structural adhesive only.

  18. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  19. Install the new component or components.
  20. Fill the gap between the Quarter Outer panel and the Quarter Outer Lower panel (indicated in red) with urethane.
  21. Once the urethane has cured, use seam sealer to completely fill the seam.
  22. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
  23. Install the Fascia Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install).
  24. Install the Taillight Assembly - LH (Remove and Replace).
  25. Install the Glass - Rear Quarter Window - LH (Remove and Install).
  26. Install the Trim - Rear Trunk - Rear Wall (Remove and Replace).
  27. Install the Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  28. Install the Charge Port (Type 2) (Remove and Replace).
  29. Install the Insulator - Wheelhouse - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  30. Install the Absorber - Wheelhouse - Rear - RH (Remove & Replace).
  31. Install the Charger (Remove and Replace).
  32. Install the Taillight Assembly - RH (Remove and Replace).
  33. Install the Trim - Liftgate Trough - LH (Remove and Replace).
  34. Install the MXP2 BODY - Bumper and Fascia - Rear Bumper Fascia - Rear Wing Bracket - LH (RR).
  35. Install the Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  36. Install the Carrier - Rocker Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
