Updated Model X Rear Quarter Outer and C-Pillar Lower Extension Components
Explains the differences between original parts and service parts for the Model X Rear Quarter Outer and Model X C-Pillar Lower Extension.
Model X vehicles built on or after January 10, 2018 have rear quarter panels and C-Pillar Lower Extensions that are slightly different from the ones that originally came on vehicles built through January 9, 2018.

C-Pillar Lower Extension Component Changes
The changes made to the new C-Pillar Lower Extension include:
- A slightly different profile on the flange at the top of the wheel arch. The expanded area of the image below shows the previous C-Pillar Lower Extension (in gray) placed over the new C-Pillar Lower Extension (in red).
- The addition of a bump stop
seating surface at the top of the wheel arch.NoteWhen installing a new C-Pillar Lower Extension on a vehicle that has an earlier rear quarter panel, some reshaping of the flange might be necessary.
Rear Quarter Outer Component Changes
The profile of the flange at the top of the wheel arch has changed. The expanded area of the image below shows the previous Rear Quarter Outer (in gray) placed over the new Rear Quarter Outer (in red).
