Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the B–Pillar Reinforcement.
  2. Remove the original component.

  3. Prepare for installation.
    or Countersunk Rivets, 4.8 mm Short
    • A = 70 mm.
    • B = 12 mm.
    • C = 90 mm.
    • D = 14 mm.
    • E = 51 mm.
    • F = 100 mm.

  4. Apply structural foam to the upper B-Pillar area on the new Body Side Complete Assembly and to the vehicle in the areas highlighted in yellow.
  5. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  6. Install the new component or components.
    Torque the bolts as follows:
    • Hex-head M8-1.25x20 bolts that attach the B-Pillar Gusset to the Upper Header, Tesla part number 1007580-00-A: 25 Nm.
    • Hex-head M8-1.25x20 bolts that attach the Body Side Outer tothe Hinge Reinforcement, Tesla part number 1007580-00-A: 50 Nm.
    • Hex-head M6-1.00x18 bolts, Tesla part number 1006529-00-A: 10 Nm.
    • Hex-head M10x80 bolts, Tesla part number 1053943-00-A: 25 Nm.
    • Torx-head M8x20 bolts, Tesla part number 1014747-00-B: 25 Nm.
  7. Install the B–Pillar Reinforcement.
  8. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
