Power Strut - Liftgate (Remove and Replace)

Equipment:
  • 1080562-00-A - Hood Prop
  • 1082502-00-A - Inflatable Air Bag

Remove

  1. Open the liftgate and the LH rear door.
  2. Position inflatable airbag between the rear headliner and the roof glass to access the power strut connector.
    Note
    Apply tape to the headliner as needed.
  3. Disconnect the liftgate power strut connector.
  4. Release the tabs that attach the electrical harness grommet to the body, and then release the grommet from the body.
  5. Support the liftgate with a prop.
  6. Release the lower liftgate power strut ball stud that is attached to the vehicle.
  7. Release the upper liftgate power strut ball stud that is attached to the liftgate, and then remove the strut from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Clip the upper liftgate power strut ball stud to the liftgate.
  2. Clip the lower liftgate power strut ball stud to the vehicle.
  3. Route the electrical harness through the body, and then secure the grommet.
  4. Connect the liftgate power strut connector.
  5. Remove the inflatable airbag from between the rear headliner and the roof glass.
  6. Enable Service Mode Plus. See .
  7. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see ): TEST-RESET_VCLEFTvia Service Mode Plus:Chassis ➜ SCCM ➜ Reset VCLeftvia Toolbox:(link).
  8. Exit Service Mode Plus. See .
  9. Close the liftgate and the LH rear door.
