Remove
- Raise and support the vehicle. See #GUID-A0CF7C9C-B57C-42B3-B8ED-A95758D026E9.

Using a steering wheel
holder, lock the steering wheel into position.
CAUTIONProtect the seat from damage.
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the 12V auxiliary battery. See #GUID-A457202A-D5B8-4DAD-A374-C91A41A7B4F5.

Remove the inner bolts that attach the
shock tower brace to the RH shock tower.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm deep socket

Remove the outer bolt that attaches
the shock tower brace to the RH shock tower.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm deep socket
-
Remove the inner bolts that attach the
shock tower brace to the LH shock tower.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm deep socket

Remove the outer bolt that attaches
the shock tower brace to the LH shock tower.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm deep socket
- Put the shock tower brace assembly aside to gain clearance for removal of the battery bracket.
- Remove all the wheels. See #GUID-0B862D15-7178-4435-AEF2-0B40B8BEE686.
- Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).

Remove the bolt that
attaches the steering gear assembly to the intermediate shaft
assembly.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
NoteFor RHD vehicles, no need to disconnect the steering column. -
Slide the electric steering
column upward to remove it from the steering gear assembly.
NoteFor RHD vehicles, no need to disconnect the steering column.
- Partially lower the vehicle.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the ABS modulator.
- Place an oil drain container beneath the ABS modulator.
-
Remove the RH front brake line pipe nut from the ABS modulator.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket

Remove the LH rear brake line pipe nut from the ABS modulator.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket

Remove the RH rear brake line pipe nut from the ABS modulator.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket

Remove the LH front brake line pipe nut from the modulator.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket

Remove the master cylinder secondary pipe nut from the ABS modulator.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket
-
Remove the master cylinder primary pipe nut from the ABS modulator.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 12 mm flare nut wrench
- 12 mm flare nut crowfoot socket

Remove the master cylinder brake lines from the 4 tube bundle clip.
-
Remove the RH front brake line from the front brake line bundle clip around
the LH front rail area.
-
Move the brake lines away from the ABS modulator.
-
Release the master cylinder brake lines from the clip at the rear of the
ABS modulator bracket.
- Remove the oil drain container from beneath the vehicle.
- Raise the vehicle fully.
-
Remove the bolts that attach the ABS modulator to the frame rail.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Release the tabs (x2) that attach the ABS modulator to the body, slide the ABS modulator towards the 12V battery area, and then remove the ABS modulator from the vehicle.

Loosen the nuts that attach
the ABS modulator to the bracket, and then pry the ABS modulator from the
bracket.
TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket
Install
- Install the ABS modulator onto the bracket.

Tighten the nuts (x2) that
attach the ABS modulator to the bracket.
8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 10 mm deep socket
- Position the ABS modulator into the vehicle for installation. Align the bracket into the body, and then attach the tabs (x2).

Install the bolts that
attach the ABS modulator to the LH frame rail.
10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- 10 mm socket

Slide the electric steering
column downward to install it into the steering gear assembly.
NoteFor RHD vehicles, no need to disconnect the steering column.

Install the bolt that
attaches the steering gear assembly to the intermediate shaft assembly.18 Nm (13.3 lbs-ft)TIpUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm socket
NoteFor RHD vehicles, no need to disconnect the steering column. - Install the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Non-Structural Pack) (Remove and Replace).
- Partially lower the vehicle.

Maneuver the master cylinder
brake lines into position, and then fasten the clip that attaches the lines
to the ABS modulator bracket.

Install the RH front brake
line into the front brake line bundle clip around the LH front rail
area.

Install the master cylinder brake lines to the 4 tube bundle clip.
-
Install the master cylinder
primary pipe nut to the ABS modulator.

Install the master cylinder
secondary pipe nut to the ABS modulator.

- Move the master cylinder lines into position for installation.

Install the LH front brake
pipe nut to the ABS modulator.

Connect the electrical connector to the ABS modulator.
- Position the shock tower brace assembly for installation.

Install the inner bolts (x2) that
attach the shock tower brace to the LH shock tower.

- Remove the steering wheel holder.
- Redeploy the vehicle firmware. See .
- Perform brake fluid bleed / flush procedure. See .
