Structural Repair Procedures Not Requiring a Frame Bench

Lists the structural repairs that can be done without mounting the vehicle on a frame bench.

All structural repairs must be performed with the vehicle properly mounted to an approved frame bench, with the exception of the procedures listed below.

CAUTION
Some of the procedures listed below require special setup to reduce stress on the vehicle structure when performing a repair when the vehicle is not on a frame bench. Special setups for repair procedures may include:
  • Raising the vehicle off the suspension
  • Removing or disconnecting the spring assemblies
  • Removing the sub-frame assemblies
  • Supporting sub-frame assemblies with screw jacks (as shown below)
Refer to the notes for each procedure below for special setup requirements.
