Door - Front - LH (Remove and Install)

Remove

  1. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  2. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See .
  3. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See #GUID-2B48046D-F15C-4E02-B2C9-82D80BB25389.
  4. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the J7 door wiring harness connectors at the LH body controller module.
  5. Release the grommet, and then push the door wiring harness through the A-pillar bulkhead.
  6. Remove the LH front door check strap fastener.
  7. If the door hinges are equipped with E8 bolts that attach the door and body part of the hinges, loosen the E8 bolts, and then remove the door from the hinges.

    Use a pick tool to first remove the covers from the E8 bolts.
  8. If the door hinges are not equipped with E8 bolts, loosen the bolts or nuts that attach the upper and lower hinges to the LH front door.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)
    27 Nm (19.9 lbs-ft)

  9. With assistance, fully remove the bolts that attach the LH front door to the upper and lower hinges, and then remove the door assembly from the vehicle.

    Note
    Remove the bolt from the lower hinge first, and then remove the bolt from the upper hinge.

Install

  1. With assistance, position the LH front door assembly onto the vehicle.
  2. If the door hinges are equipped with E8 bolts that attach the door and body part of the hinge, install the door to the hinges, tighten the E8 bolts and then install the covers. Skip to step 4 afterwards.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
  3. Install the bolts or nuts that attach the upper and lower hinges to the LH front door.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)
    27 Nm (19.9 lbs-ft)

  4. Install the LH front door check strap fastener to body.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)
  5. Feed the harness through the door assembly into the cabin, and then install the grommet to the body.
  6. Connect the J7 door wiring harness connector at the LH body controller module.
  7. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See #GUID-2B48046D-F15C-4E02-B2C9-82D80BB25389.
  8. Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See .
  9. Connect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  10. Check the LH front door alignment, and adjust as necessary. See .
  11. Apply touch up paint to painted fasteners that were removed and reinstalled during this procedure.
