Battery Flow Nut Replacement (Rear Crossmember)

Repair Procedure

  1. Cut an access window on the bottom of the crossmember.

    Cut Line

    Reference Line/Point

    • A = 115 mm
    • B = 80 mm
    • C = 82 mm
    • D = 105 mm
  2. Remove the factory rivets in the repair area.

  3. Remove the Nut Strip through the access window.

    Note
    If the original Nut Strip is not damaged, it can be reused.
  4. Remove the Battery Flow Nut from the Nut Strip.
  5. Install the Battery Flow Nut on the Nut Strip.
  6. Install the Nut Strip through the access window.
  7. Install fasteners through the crossmember and the Nut Strip.
  8. Apply an anti-corrosion coating to any bare metal.
  9. Install a butyl patch over the access window.
  10. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
