Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the Torque Box Inner.
  2. Remove the Cowl Side Assembly (Vehicles Built Through November 20, 2021).
  3. Remove the Front Row Seat Floor.
  4. Remove the original component.

  5. Prepare for installation.

  6. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  7. Install the Toeboard NVH baffles.
  8. Install the new component or components.
    Torque all bolts to 30 Nm.
  9. Perform GMA welding.

    CAUTION
    Do not weld on a Tesla vehicle before performing the Vehicle Electrical Isolation Procedure (refer to the vehicle-specific Service Manual for more information on the Vehicle Electrical Isolation Procedure). Welding on a Tesla vehicle with an energized high or low voltage system might damage vehicle components.

    Note
    Before GMA welding, a test weld using material of the same gauge and type should be performed to make sure that the welding equipment settings produce a satisfactory joint.
  10. Install the Front Row Seat Floor.
  11. Install the Cowl Side Assembly (Vehicles Built Through November 20, 2021).
  12. Install the fastener as indicated.

  13. Install the Front Frame Rail.
  14. Install the Torque Box Inner.
  15. Install the Hood Hinge Bracket.
  16. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
