Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the window.
  2. Use a jack to support the LH front door from the bottom.
  3. Apply masking tape to the area surrounding the LH front door upper hinge on the body and door to aid in alignment during installation.
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front upper door hinge to the body.

  5. Remove the fastener that attaches the LH front upper door hinge to the door.

    The fastener can either be a bolt or a nut.

    • Combination Wrench 12pt 13mm
  6. Carefully remove the LH front upper door hinge from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the LH front door upper hinge to original position.

    Note
    Push outward on the top of the door near the speaker with one hand and then insert the upper hinge.
  2. Hand-tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front upper door hinge to the body.
  3. Hand-tighten the fastener that attaches the LH front upper door hinge to the door.

    The fastener can either be a bolt or a nut.
  4. Close the LH front door.
  5. Check the gap and flushness and adjust if necessary. Refer to CVIS for current specification.
  6. Open the LH front door.
  7. Torque the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front upper door hinge to the body.
    24 Nm (17.7 lbs-ft)

  8. Torque the fastener that attaches the LH front upper door hinge to the door.
    49 Nm (36.1 lbs-ft)

  9. Remove the masking tape.
  10. Apply touch up paint on the LH front door hinge bolts as needed.

    Note
    Shake the touch up paint before applying. Allow the first coat to dry for 20 minutes before applying a second coat.
  11. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
