Wheelhouse (Front Section) Repair – 1–Piece Cast RUB
Repair Information
- Review all collision repair general practices and safety documentation and wear the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) before beginning this procedure.
- This procedure can be completed without using a frame bench.
- Depending on the damage, it
may be possible to repair this component. Refer to Cast Rear Under Body (1–Piece) Repair Guidelines for
more information.
Sectioning Guidelines
- Sections do not require fasteners at butt or overlap joints unless specifically indicated.
- The service part is installed from the underside of the wheelhouse.
- The edges must overlap a minimum of 20 mm beyond the cut edge of the wheel house. If damage extends beyond this, contact Tesla Collision Repair.
- Gaps between panels of overlap and butt joints should be as small as possible to maximize joint strength.
- Fill all gaps between panels with structural adhesive to maximize joint strength.
- Seal all seams.

Repair Procedure

Remove the original component.
Cut Line
- A = 35 mm.
- B = 40 mm.
- C = 50 mm.
NoteThe measurements shown indicate the outer boundaries (maximum size) of the repair area, and a smaller repair area may be cut. If damage extends beyond this area, contact Tesla Collision Repair for assistance.WarningThe remaining portion of the wheelhouse must overlap the service part by a minimum of 20 mm. in the inboard areas.

Prepare the highlighted
portion of the wheelhouse underside for installation of the service
part.
If the repair area where the service part will be installed has ribs or raised areas, grind down the ribs or raised areas enough to allow the service part to sit flat in the repair area.

or Structural Bulb Rivets, 6.5 mm
or Rivets, 4.8 mm
- D = 24 mm.
- E = 26 mm.
- F = 28 mm.
- Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
- Install the new component or components.
