Note
Retain these bolts for use when the bumper beam is installed. These bolts are installed from the inside of the vehicle through the Rear Rail End Plate where the studs were removed.

Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the Panel Assembly - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the Diffuser - Rear Fascia (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the Insulator - Wheelhouse - Set (Remove & Replace).
  4. Remove the original component.

  5. Remove the original component.

  6. Prepare for installation.

  7. Prepare for installation.
  8. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  9. Install the new component or components.
  10. Perform resistance spot welding.

    Do not weld on a Tesla vehicle before performing the Vehicle Electrical Isolation Procedure (refer to the vehicle-specific Service Manual for more information on the Vehicle Electrical Isolation Procedure). Welding on a Tesla vehicle with an energized high or low voltage system might damage vehicle components.
  11. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
  12. Install the Insulator - Wheelhouse - Set (Remove & Replace).
  13. Install the Diffuser - Rear Fascia (Remove and Replace).
  14. Install the Panel Assembly - Rear (Remove and Replace).
