Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the Sill Inner Extension (Vehicles Built Through September 17, 2024).
  2. Remove the original component.

    Note
    The measurements shown indicate the outer boundaries (maximum size) of the repair area, and a smaller repair area may be cut. If damage extends beyond this area, contact Tesla Collision Repair for assistance.

    Note
    Use the service part as a reference for material removal from the Cast Rear Under Body. Bulk cut as needed until the service part fits in the repair area.

    • Cut Line A = 36 mm B = 26 mm C = 44 mm D = 41 mm
  5. Trim the area shown in red using a grinder. Make sure that the new component fits as shown (make sure there are no gaps).
  6. Prepare for installation.

  7. Prepare for installation.

    Note
    The service part is installed from the underside of the wheelhouse.
  8. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  9. Install the new component or components.
  10. Apply seam sealer to the entire outboard edge of the new component.
  11. Install the Sill Inner Extension (Vehicles Built After September 17, 2024).
  12. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
