A faulty headlamp controller may cause the same alerts and failure modes as a defective headlamp assembly. When unsure if the headlamp or controller is defective, first swap the LH and RH headlamp controller. See Headlamp Controller - LH (Remove and Install). If the failure moves to the other side of the vehicle, replace the headlamp controller. If the failure does not move, replace the headlight assembly.
