Rear Spring and Subframe Mount

Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the Trunk Floor Assembly (Complete).
  2. Remove the Rear Damper Mount Upper Assembly with Stiffeners.
  3. Cut the Wheelhouse Inner as shown and bend back the cut section to expose the spot welds underneath.
    Cut Line
    • L = 92 mm.
  4. Remove the original component.

  5. Prepare for installation.

    or High Strength Structural Rivets, 6.5 mm
    • A = 29 mm.
    • B = 31 mm.
    • C = 10 mm.
    • D = 32 mm.
    • E = 11 mm.
    • F = 49 mm.
    • G = 15 mm.
    or Structural Countersunk Rivets, 6.5 mm
    • H = 5 mm.
    • I = 9 mm.
    • J = 88 mm.
    • K = 24 mm.

    or Flow Form Rivets, S38

  6. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  7. Install the new component or components.
    Torque the bolts to 24 Nm.
  8. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the the cut section of the Wheelhouse Inner.
  9. Bend the cut section of the Wheelhouse Inner as shown and to cover the fasteners underneath.
  10. Install the Rear Damper Mount Upper Assembly with Stiffeners.
  11. Install the Trunk Floor Assembly (Complete).
  12. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
