Repair Information
- Review all collision repair general practices and safety documentation and wear the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) before beginning this procedure.
- Properly mount the vehicle on a frame bench when performing this procedure.

Repair Procedure

Remove the necessary portion
of the Body Side Outer to expose
the underlying component being replaced.

If the vehicle was
equipped with a bow header: Detach the Bow Header.
or Factory Spot Welds

Detach the base of the B-Pillar.
Depending on the build date of the vehicle, it may be secured in two different ways.
GMA Weld

Remove the original component.

Cut and prepare the new B-PILLAR COMPLETE as indicated to make the new components.

For vehicles built through October 11, 2016: Install the Gusset Ramp on the Sill.
Refer to the installation instructions in the B–Pillar Gusset Ramp repair procedure.

Prepare for installation.
NoteInstall washers (WASHER, M8x24, 2MM) between the B-Pillar and the B-Pillar Gusset Ramp if there is a gap of 2mm or less. If there is a gap between B-Pillar and the B-Pillar Gusset Ramp of more than 2mm, discontinue this procedure and contact Tesla Collision Repair.

- E = 8 mm
- F = 20 mm

GMA Weld
- Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.

Install the new component or components.
Torque the bolts to 25 Nm.

Perform GMA welding.

Install the portion of the
Body Side Outer that was
removed to expose the component being replaced.

If the vehicle was
equipped with a bow header: Attach the Bow Header.
- Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
