Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the Rear Panel Side Assembly.
  2. Remove the Wing Bracket (Lower).
  3. Remove the small section of the Rear Rail.
    • Cut Line
  4. Position the cutting jig, and mark a cut line along the rear edge of the jig.

    Note
    Avoid damaging the jig. Jigs are not one-time use.
  5. Remove the original component.

    • or Factory Spot Welds
  6. Trim the original component on the vehicle by grinding the material in the area shown in red.

    Minimize the amount material removal during grinding and make sure all edges are smooth and properly rounded.
  7. Prepare for installation.
  8. Prepare for installation.
  9. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  10. Install the new component or components.

    Torque the bolts to 33 Nm.

  11. Install the Rear Panel Side Assembly.
  12. Install the Wing Bracket (Lower).

    Relocate the indicated fastener to the specified location for the Wing Bracket (Lower) procedure to avoid clash with the ejector pin.

  13. Install the Butyl Foil patch as indicated.
