Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the Rear Panel Side Assembly.
  2. Remove the Wing Bracket (Lower).
  3. Remove the original component.

    Note
    Cut just to the rear of the cast cut line on the original component.
  4. Remove the original component.
    • or Factory Spot Welds
  5. Position the cutting jig, and mark a cut line along the rear edge of the jig.

    Avoid damaging the jig. Jigs are not one-time use.
  6. Remove the original component.

    Cut just to the rear of the cut line on the original component, then trim the original component as necessary to fit. Keep any gaps as small as possible.
  7. Prepare for installation.

  10. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  11. Install the new component or components.
    Torque the bolts to 33 Nm.

    Note
    Apply seam sealer to the joint between the new component and the Cast Rear Under Body.
  12. Install the Rear Rail End Plate.
  13. Install the Wing Bracket (Lower).
  14. Install the Rear Panel Side Assembly.
  15. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
