Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the Shotgun Outer.
  2. Remove the Dash Crossmember.
  3. Remove the Front Subframe Support.
  4. Remove the original component.

  10. Prepare to install the Longitudinal Upper on the Front Frame Rail Assembly.
  11. Prepare to install the Longitudinal Upper on the Front Frame Rail Assembly.
  12. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the Front Frame Rail and the Longitudinal Upper.
  13. Install the Longitudinal Upper on the Front Frame Rail.
  14. Perform resistance spot welding.

    Each Countersunk Rivet in the highlighted area is installed slightly offset from the location where a drill through factory spot weld was removed.
  22. Prepare for installation.
  23. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  24. Install the new component or components.
    Torque the bolts to 22 Nm.
  25. Install the Front Subframe Support.
  26. Install the Dash Crossmember.
  27. Install the Shotgun Outer.
  28. Cut the butyl foil patch as needed and cover the installed rivets as shown.
  29. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
