Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the Fender Bracket.
  2. Remove the original component.
  3. Remove the original component.

  4. Prepare for installation.

  5. Prepare for installation.

  6. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  7. Install the new component or components.
    Torque the bolts as follows:
    • Bolts securing the Shotgun Outer to the Hinge Pillar: 35 Nm.
    • Bolt securing the Shotgun Outer to the Front End Module (vehicles built in Gigafactory Berlin only): 30 Nm.
  8. Perform resistance spot welding.

    CAUTION
    Do not weld on a Tesla vehicle before performing the Vehicle Electrical Isolation Procedure (refer to the vehicle-specific Service Manual for more information on the Vehicle Electrical Isolation Procedure). Welding on a Tesla vehicle with an energized high or low voltage system might damage vehicle components.
  9. Install the Fender Bracket.
  10. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
