Longitudinal Upper

Repair Information

Review all collision repair general practices and safety documentation and wear the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) before beginning this procedure.
This procedure can be completed without using a frame bench.

Repair Procedure

Remove the Torque Box Rear Upper.
Remove the Toeboard Outer.
Remove the original component.
- or Factory Spot Welds
- or Drill through factory spot welds
Note
Use the access hole in the Dash Complete panel to locate and drill through the drill-through spot welds from the back side of the Longitudinal Upper.

Note
When drilling out spot welds, use a drill bit that creates a hole correctly sized for the fastener that will replace the spot weld.
Prepare for installation.

- or High Strength Structural Rivets, 6.5 mm A = 74 mm B = 63 mm
Prepare for installation.
- or High Strength Structural Rivets, 6.5 mm
- or Rivets, 4.8 mm
Prepare for installation.
- or Countersunk Rivets, 4.8 mm Long
Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
Install the new component or components.
Install the Toeboard Outer.
Install the fasteners as indicated.

Note
During removal, if there was not a fastener in the location circled in yellow, do not install a fastener in this location.
Install the fasteners as indicated.
- or Countersunk Rivets, 4.8 mm Long
Install the Torque Box Rear Upper.
Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
