Rail Motor - 2nd Row Seat - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the LH 2nd row seat from the vehicle. See Seat Assembly - 2nd Row - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Install).
  2. Rotate the seat to access the underside.

    Ensure the seat cushion is protected from damage.
  3. Disconnect the LH 2nd row seat rail motor connector.
  4. Apply upward pressure from the bottom of the rail motor to release it from the motor bridge plastic bracket assembly.

    Use caution when working below the bridge, as the plastic ribs are sharp and may cause injury.
  5. Remove the LH 2nd row seat rail motor from the short shaft side.
  6. Remove the LH 2nd row seat rail motor from the long shaft side.

Install

  1. Apply the minimum amount of Kluberlube to the seat rail bridge and seat rail motor where the short shaft track cable guard ring is installed.

    Note
    This will ease the installation of the grommet to the bridge and servicing during future repairs.
  2. Install the LH 2nd row rail motor onto the long shaft side.

    Note
    • Motor and flex cables are keyed on both ends. Ensure the flex cable is fully seated in the seat track.
    • Check that the motor and flex cable are aligned in the correct (square) position to match the square opening of the rail motor. If they are misaligned (like a diamond shape), adjust the cable and align the motor properly before installation.
    • Do not force the motor onto the cable, as this can damage the parts.
    • After installation, confirm the motor's rubber locating pin is securely inserted into the motor bridge plastic bracket assembly.
  3. Install the LH 2nd row seat rail motor onto the short shaft side.

    • Motor and flex cables are keyed on both ends. Ensure the flex cable is fully seated in the seat track.

  4. Apply downward pressure from the top of the rail motor to install it to the motor bridge plastic bracket assembly.
  5. Connect the LH 2nd row seat rail motor connector.
  6. Install the LH 2nd row seat to the vehicle. See Seat Assembly - 2nd Row - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Install).
