Harness - PCS2 Lite - Ancillary Bay (Model Y L) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the ancillary bay cover. See Cover - Ancillary Bay (Model YL) (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the nut that attaches the DCDC ground busbar to the HV battery, then gently lift the DCDC ground busbar upward.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Socket 1/4in Dr. 6pt. Std. x 13mm

    Note
    Do not bend the busbar excessively.
  3. Disconnect the PCS2 Lite logic connector from PCS2 Lite.
  4. Remove the ancillary bay harness clip from the positive pack contactor.
  5. Disconnect the ancillary bay harness connectors (x2) from the positive pack contactor.
  6. Remove the 12V DC PCS2 Lite harness. See Harness - PCS2 Lite - 12V - DC (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the RH daisy chain pass through housing from the ancillary bay.
    1. Insert the UFO harness removal tool (1475996-00-A) beneath the daisy chain pass through housing.
    2. Insert the tab release tool to release the bottom clips (x2).
    3. Use the trim tool to release the top location pins (x3).
    4. Pull the daisy chain pass through housing upward to remove it.

    Note
    If damaged during disassembly, replace the PCS2 Lite harness assembly.
  8. Remove the ancillary bay harness clips (x3) from the positive DC link.
  9. Remove the ancillary bay harness clips (x2) from the RH base insulator assembly.
  10. Remove the hinge post. See .
  11. Disconnect the X421 connector from the DC connection bus by releasing the locking tab.
  12. Disconnect the ancillary bay harness connectors (x2) from the negative pack contactor.
  13. Remove the fast charge access insulator. See Insulator - Fast Charge Access - Ancillary Bay (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  14. Remove the LH daisy chain pass through housing from the ancillary bay.
    1. Insert the UFO harness removal tool (1475996-00-A) beneath the daisy chain pass through housing.
    2. Insert the tab release tool to release the bottom clips (x2).
    3. Use the trim tool to release the top location pins (x3).
    4. Release the harness clip and pull the daisy chain pass through housing upward to remove it.

    Note
    If damaged during disassembly, replace the PCS2 Lite harness assembly.
  15. Remove the X423 connector from the DC link busbar by releasing the locking tab and clip.
  16. Remove the pyro disconnect dummy.
  17. Remove the pyro disconnect logic connector by releasing the clip.
  18. Disconnect the shunt assembly connector by releasing the locking tab and clip.
  19. Remove the HV joint insulators from the DC link busbar.
  20. Remove the X422 connector from the DC link busbar by releasing the locking tab and clip.
  21. Remove the ancillary bay harness assembly fixing clips (x5) from the DC link.
  22. Remove the tab from the DC link shell.

    Note
    When removing a tab, ensure it break off along the bottom edge and leaves no sharp corners that could damage the wiring harness.
  23. Route out the PCS2 Lite harness assembly from the inlet outlet pipe, and then remove the harness assembly from the ancillary bay.

Replace

  1. Route the PCS2 Lite harness assembly along the inlet outlet pipe, then position it into the ancillary bay for installation.
  2. Install the ancillary bay harness assembly fixing clips (x5) to the DC link.
  3. Secure the locking tab and clip to install the X422 connector to the DC link busbar.
  4. Install the HV joint insulators to the DC link busbar.
  5. Connect the shunt assembly connector by securing the locking tab and clip.
  6. Install the pyro disconnect logic connector by securing the clip.
  7. Install the pyro disconnect dummy.
  8. Secure the locking tab and clip to install the X423 connector to the DC link busbar.
  9. Align the location pins (x3), secure the bottom clips (x2) and harness clip to install the LH daisy chain pass through housing onto the ancillary bay.
  10. Install the fast charge access insulator. See Insulator - Fast Charge Access - Ancillary Bay (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  11. Connect the ancillary bay harness connectors (x2) to the negative pack contactor.
  12. Connect the X421 connector to the DC connection bus by securing the locking tab.
  13. Install the hinge post. See .
  14. Install the ancillary bay harness clips (x2) to the RH base insulator assembly.
  15. Install the ancillary bay harness clips (x3) to the positive DC link.
  16. Align the location pins (x3) and secure the bottom clips (x2) to install the RH daisy chain pass through housing onto the ancillary bay.
  17. Install the 12V DC PCS2 Lite harness. See Harness - PCS2 Lite - 12V - DC (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  18. Connect the ancillary bay harness connectors (x2) to the positive pack contactor.
  19. Install the ancillary bay harness clip to the positive pack contactor.
  20. Connect the PCS2 Lite logic connector to the PCS2 Lite.
  21. Gently press down the DCDC ground busbar to the HV battery, and install a new nut that attaches the DCDC ground busbar to the HV battery.
    9 Nm (6.6 lbs-ft)
