Remove

  1. Open LH doors and lower LH windows.
  2. Move the driver seat forward.

    Adjust the seat back if needed and avoid contacting other components.
  3. Insert the seat belt release key (1493782-00-A) into the bottom of the seat belt pretensioner coupling to release the seat belt from the pretensioner.
  4. Disconnect the LV battery power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  5. Remove the LH B-pillar B section duct. See Duct - B Section - 3rd Row - Upper - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove and discard the patch bolt that attaches the LH upper D-ring to the adjustable top loop.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T50 socket
  7. Remove the driver seat belt webbing guide bar. See Web Guide - Seatbelt - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove and discard the patch bolt that attaches the LH front seat belt retractor to the base of the LH B-pillar.

    • 13 mm socket
  9. Disconnect the electrical harness from the LH front seat belt retractor connectors (x2).

    Note
    Slide the orange locking tabs on the both sides of the connector at the same time to release the connectors.
  10. Remove the driver seatbelt retractor from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the driver seatbelt retractor to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the electrical harness to the seatbelt retractor connectors (x2).

    An audible click will be heard when the connectors are fully seated.
  3. Install a new patch bolt (1846261-00-A) to attach the LH front seat belt retractor to the base of the LH B-pillar.
    40 Nm (29.5 lbs-ft)

    • 13 mm socket
  4. Install the driver seatbelt webbing guide bar. Web Guide - Seatbelt - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install a new patch bolt (1786770-00-A) to attach the LH upper D-ring to the top loop.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)

  6. Install the LH B-pillar B section duct. See Duct - B Section - 3rd Row - Upper - LH (Model YL) (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the LH front seatbelt pretensioner coupling onto the LH front seat pretensioner.

    Note
    Perform a pull-push-pull test to verify the pretensioner and coupling are fully engaged.
  8. Connect the LV battery. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) (Modify).
  9. Move the driver seat back to its original position.
  10. Raise LH windows and close LH doors.
