Repair Information

- Properly mount the vehicle on a frame bench when performing this procedure.

Repair Procedure
- Remove the Body Side (Complete).
- Remove the C–Pillar Lower Extension.
- Remove the Heelboard Crossmember Glove.

Remove the original component.
or Bolts
- Prepare for installation.
- Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.

Install the new component or components.
Torque the bolts as follows:
- Hex-head M8x20 bolts part number 1014747-00-B: 24 Nm.
- Hex-head M10x25 bolts part number 1004383-00-C: 45 Nm.
- Hex-head M8x27 bolt part number 1621820-00-A: 24 Nm.
- Hex-head M8x50 bolt part number 1046838-00-A: 24 Nm.
- Torx bolts M8x28 part number 1621839-00-B: 30 Nm.
- Torx bolt M8x20 part number 1022448-00-A: 30 Nm.

Perform GMA welding.

Refer to Approved Gas Metal Arc (GMA) Welders and Welding Wire for information on approved GMA welders and welding wire.CAUTIONDo not weld on a Tesla vehicle before performing the Vehicle Electrical Isolation Procedure (refer to the vehicle-specific Service Manual for more information on the Vehicle Electrical Isolation Procedure). Welding on a Tesla vehicle with an energized high or low voltage system might damage vehicle components.NoteBefore GMA welding, a test weld using material of the same gauge and type should be performed to make sure that the welding equipment settings produce a satisfactory joint.
- Install the Heelboard Crossmember Glove.
- Install the C–Pillar Lower Extension.
- Install the Falcon Door Striker Bracket.
- Install the Body Side (Complete).
- Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
