Pinch Sensor (1st row) - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the Closeout Panel - Door - Front - LH (Remove and Install).
  2. Use a plastic trim tool to remove the push clips (x6) that secure the pinch sensor to the door.
    CAUTION
    Use caution not to damage paintwork and exterior trim.
  3. Slide the pinch sensor trim out from under the door seal.
  4. Release the pinch sensor harness grommet by pulling it away from the door. Pull the pinch sensor harness out through the grommet in the rear of the door shell.
  5. Reach in through the door cavity and release the fir tree clip that secures the pinch sensor harness to the door.
  6. Remove the pinch sensor from the vehicle.
  7. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.

Installation

Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:

CAUTION
Replace any broken clips.
  1. Ensure proper operation of the pinch sensor.
