Bracket - Headlamp Support - LH (Remove and Replace)

Correction code 17406002 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the correction code and its associated FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Remove

  1. Open LH front door
  2. Lower LH front window
  3. Run ODIN routine
  4. Open hood
    Note
    Via center display > Controls > Front Trunk
  5. Remove underhood aprons
    Note
    4x aprons, 11x clips each, 3x datums First remove rear apron, Then remove LH and RH aprons, Last remove front apron
  6. Remove frunk carpet
    Note
    2x connectors, Release the carpet from underneath the seal
  7. Remove frunk assembly
    Note
    10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
  8. Disconnect 12V negative terminal and First Responder Loop
    Note
    1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm, 1x connector, Wait at least 2 minutes before disconnecting modules or HV components
  9. Raise vehicle partially and lower onto locks
    Note
    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side
  10. Remove clips and pull back on LH front wheelhouse liner
    Note
    4x push clips
  11. Remove clip securing LH wheel fairing
    Note
    1x push clip
  12. Remove bolts securing LH wheel fairing
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm
  13. Release clips securing front half of LH front fender garnish
    Note
    8x clips, Be cautious of parking sensor
  14. Disconnect LH fender garnish parking sensor
    Note
    1x connector, Pull red tab to disengage lock
  15. Release clips securing rear half of LH front garnish and remove from vehicle
    Note
    5x clips
  16. Remove screw securing LH fascia to fender
    Note
    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm
  17. Remove clips and pull back on RH front wheelhouse liner
    Note
    4x push clips
  18. Remove clip securing RH front wheel fairing
    Note
    1x push clip
  19. Remove bolts securing RH front wheel fairing
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm
  20. Release clips securing front half of RH front fender garnish
    Note
    8x clips, Be cautious of park sensor
  21. Disconnect RH fender garnish parking sensor
    Note
    1x connector
  22. Release clips securing rear half of RH front garnish and remove from vehicle
    Note
    5x clips
  23. Remove screw securing RH fascia to fender
    Note
    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm
  24. Raise vehicle fully, lower lift onto locks
    Note
    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Ensure an audible click of locks on both sides is heard before lowering, Vehicle may tilt to side if both locks are not engaged
  25. Remove clips securing fascia to lower front aero shield
    Note
    11x push clips
  26. Remove fasteners securing fascia to lower front aero shield
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm
  27. Lower vehicle fully
    Note
    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
  28. Remove bolts securing fascia to upper grill
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm
  29. Remove front fascia assembly
    Note
    2x clips, 1x connector, Place fascia onto padded surface, Recommend assistance
  30. Place fascia on padded surface
    Note
    Ensure the front of the fascia is facing down
  31. Remove bolts that secure LH headlamp to Front End Carrier
    Note
    4x bolts, 10mm, 4.7 Nm
  32. Remove LH Headlamp
    Note
    1x Connector, rotate the headlamp outward leading with the inner corner and pull forward. Take care not to damage the fender during removal
  33. Disconnect LH horn
    Note
    2x push connectors
  34. Remove LH horn from LH headlamp Support bracket
    Note
    1x bolt, 10mm, 9 Nm
  35. Release LH horn harness from onto LH headlamp Support bracket
    Note
    2x fir tree clips
  36. Remove LH front accelerometer
    Note
    1x bolt, 10mm, 8 Nm, 1x datum, Do not disconnect the accelerometer
  37. Remove LH corner radar bracket from LH headlamp Support bracket
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 6.5 Nm
  38. Release LH headlight harness from LH headlamp Support bracket
    Note
    1x fir tree clips
  39. Remove clip securing washer fluid reservoir to LH headlamp Support bracket
    Note
    1x clip
  40. Remove bolts securing LH headlamp support bracket to frunk cross member
    Note
    3x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
  41. Remove bolt securing LH headlamp support bracket to LH front fender
    Note
    1x bolt, 10mm, 7 Nm
  42. Remove bolts securing LH headlamp support bracket to subframe
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
  43. Remove LH headlamp support bracket from vehicle

Install

  1. Position LH headlamp support bracket into vehicle
  2. Install bolts securing LH headlamp support bracket to subframe
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
  3. Install bolt securing LH headlamp support bracket to LH front fender
    Note
    1x bolt, 10mm, 7 Nm
  4. Install bolts securing LH headlamp support bracket to frunk cross member
    Note
    3x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
  5. Install clip securing washer fluid reservoir to LH headlamp Support bracket
    Note
    1x clip
  6. Secure LH headlight harness onto LH headlamp Support bracket
    Note
    1x fir tree clips
  7. Install LH corner radar bracket onto LH headlamp Support bracket
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 6.5 Nm
  8. Install Remove LH LH front accelerometer onto LH headlamp Support bracket
    Note
    1x bolt, 10mm, 8 Nm, 1x datum, Do not disconnect the accelerometer
  9. Secure LH horn harness onto LH headlamp Support bracket
    Note
    2x fir tree clips
  10. Install LH horn onto LH headlamp Support bracket
    Note
    1x bolt, 10mm, 9 Nm
  11. Connect LH horn
    Note
    2x push in connectors
  12. Position LH Headlamp
    Note
    1x connector
  13. Install LH headlamp assembly fasteners to FEM
    Note
    4x bolts, 10mm, 4.7 Nm
  14. Install front fascia assembly to vehicle
    Note
    1x connector, Recommend assistance
  15. Install bolts securing fascia to upper grill
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm
  16. Raise vehicle fully, lower lift onto locks
    Note
    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Ensure an audible click of locks on both sides is heard before lowering, Vehicle may tilt to side if both locks are not engaged
  17. Install clips securing fascia to lower front aero shield
    Note
    11x push clips, Indicated in red
  18. Install fasteners securing fascia to lower front aero shield
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm
  19. Lower vehicle partially and set lift onto locks
    Note
    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height
  20. Install screw securing RH fascia to fender
    Note
    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm
  21. Install rear half of RH front fender garnish
    Note
    5x clips
  22. Connect RH front fender garnish parking sensor
    Note
    1x connector
  23. Install front half of RH front garnish
    Note
    8x clips, Be cautious of parking sensor, Be sure to align fender ducts
  24. Secure bolts for RH front wheel fairing
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm
  25. Secure clip for RH front wheel fairing
    Note
    1x push clip
  26. Fully secure RH front wheelhouse liner to fender garnish
    Note
    4x push clips
  27. Install screw securing LH fascia to fender
    Note
    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm
  28. Install rear half of LH front fender garnish
    Note
    5x clips
  29. Connect RH front fender garnish parking sensor
    Note
    1x connector
  30. Install front half of LH front garnish
    Note
    8x clips, Be cautious of parking sensor, Be sure to align fender ducts
  31. Install bolts securing LH front wheel fairing to front aero shield
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm
  32. Install clip securing LH front wheel fairing to front aero shield
    Note
    1x push clip
  33. Fully secure LH front wheelhouse liner to fender garnish
    Note
    4x push clips
  34. Lower vehicle fully
  35. Connect First Responder Loop and 12V battery negative terminal
    Note
    1x connector, 1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm
  36. Install frunk assembly
    Note
    10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, Hand start all bolts first then tighten with tools
  37. Install frunk carpet
    Note
    2x connectors, Make sure that the carpet is attached beneath the seal
  38. Remove vehicle from lift
    Note
    Lower rack arms fully and move them from under vehicle, Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode", Via Controls > Service > Jack Mode
  39. Set vehicle ride height to LOW
    Note
    Using center displayControls > Suspension > Low, Ensure all tire pressures are set to specification to ensure accurate ride height
  40. Place air suspension into "Jack Mode"
    Note
    Using MCU touchscreen > Controls > Suspension > Jack Mode
  41. Clean headlamps
    Note
    Allow 1 minute dry time
  42. Position LET headlight aimer in front of vehicle center
    Note
    Ensure the headlight aimer is positioned on a level surface aligned with the vehicle, maintaining a 35 cm distance from the headlamp lens
  43. Line up tester perpendicular to vehicle
    Note
    Use visor/laser to line up tester perpendicular to axis between hood struts, If the headlight aimer can move between RH and LH headlights while maintaining the same laser angle projected onto the hood struts, it is set correctly - perpendicular to the car
  44. Turn On headlights
    Note
    Controls > Headlights > ON
  45. Position LET headlight aimer in front of LH headlamp
    Note
    Adjust the height as needed to align precisely with the center point of the headlamp
  46. Power on headlamp LET aimer
    Note
    Plug into power outlet if necessary
  47. Set up LET Headlight Aimer for LH headlight
    Note
    Select OEM > ECE-HSM > LEFT LIGHT
  48. Align LET headlight aimer to LH headlamp
    Note
    Select 0.8-1.0 m and move the LET aiming following the black arrows till its in the center, then selecting the 'X' symbol will direct you to the adjustment screen
  49. Adjust LH headlight
    Note
    Adjust vertical and horizontal aim of LH front headlamp , Retrieve the X value of 0.00% and the Y value of -1.25% (Max limit of -1.00%), if both values are within specification, select the checkmark
  50. Position LET headlight aimer in front of RH headlamp
    Note
    Adjust the height as needed to align precisely with the center point of the headlamp
  51. Set up LET Headlight Aimer for RH headlight
  52. Align LET headlight aimer to RH headlamp
    Note
    Select 0.8-1.0 m and move the LET aiming following the black arrows till its in the center, then selecting the 'X' symbol will direct you to the adjustment screen
  53. Adjust RH headlight
    Note
    Adjust vertical and horizontal aim of RH front headlamp, Retrieve the X value of 0.00% and the Y value of -1.25% (Max limit of -1.00%), if both values are within specification, select the checkmark
  54. Power off LET headlight aimer
    Note
    Use the side button then the screen to turn the aimer off and move it away from the vehicle
  55. Move LET aimer aside
  56. Install under hood aprons
    Note
    4x aprons, 11x clips each, 3x datums First remove rear apron, Then remove LH and RH aprons, Last remove front apron
  57. Close hood
  58. Switch headlights to "Auto"
    Note
    Controls > Headlights > Auto
  59. Remove vehicle from Jack mode
    Note
    Controls > Suspension > Jack Mode
  60. Raise LH front window
  61. Close LH front door
