Air Extractor - Rear - Outer - LH (Remove and Replace)

Correction code 10014602 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the correction code and its associated FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Remove

  1. Open LH front door
  2. Open both falcon doors
    Note
    Via center display > Controls > Falcon door icons
  3. Open the trunk of the vehicle
  4. Run ODIN routine
  5. Move LH 2nd row Monopost seat fully forward using easy entry mode
  6. Remove LH welcome plate
    Note
    8x clips
  7. Remove front screw securing LH C-pillar lower
    Note
    1x screw, T25, 2.5 Nm
  8. Remove LH lower C-pillar trim panel
    Note
    10x clips, Release clips along racetrack trim and then pull panel towards front of vehicle to release remaining clips
  9. Fold down LH 3rd row seat
    Note
    Press button located on LH 3rd row seat back assembly near headrest, fold seat back down towards front of vehicle into a flat position
  10. Remove rear load floor
  11. Remove LH trunk sill side trim
    Note
    4x clips
  12. Remove RH trunk sill side trim
    Note
    4x clips
  13. Remove trunk sill trim
    Note
    4x clips, 2x patch bolts, T25, 2.5 Nm, Discard patch bolts after removal
  14. Remove trunk board
  15. Remove trunk floor carpet
  16. Remove rear load floor support
    Note
    4x push clips, 2x clips
  17. Remove LH mid C-pillar trim
    Note
    2x screws, T20, 3 Nm, 4x clips
  18. Remove LH upper C-pillar
    Note
    3x screws, T20, 3 Nm, 1x bolt, T25, 3 Nm
  19. Remove 3rd row seat LH side cover
    Note
    3x tabs, Release bottom section first, then pivot up and release from side of seat
  20. Remove calamari from LH side trunk trim
    Note
    6x tabs
  21. Remove LH trunk side trim
    Note
    3x clips, Release rear of panel and feed trunk tie down through, then release upper clips and disconnect 12V outlet, Finally lift panel up to remove
  22. Remove LH Parcel Shelf Support
    Note
    1x nut, 8mm, 1.25 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 2.5 Nm, 3x push clips, 1x edge clip, Remove hardware then release edge clip securing charge port release cable
  23. Remove LH rear minion bracket
    Note
    2x push clips
  24. Remove charger duct
    Note
    Release from plastic ducts at top and bottom
  25. Fold both 3rd row seats down
    Note
    Press button located on both 3rd row seat back assembly near headrest, fold seat back down towards front of vehicle into a flat position
  26. Remove underhood aprons
    Note
    4x aprons, 11x clips each, 3x datums First remove rear apron, Then remove LH and RH aprons, Last remove front apron
  27. Remove frunk carpet
    Note
    2x connectors, Release the carpet from underneath the seal
  28. Remove frunk assembly
    Note
    10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm
  29. Remove HEPA filter housing
    Note
    Lift up from bottom and pull out, *Note: There may or may not be a filter in housing based on vehicle configuration
  30. Power off vehicle via UI
    Note
    Via center display > Controls > Safety > Power Off
  31. Disconnect first responder loop
    Note
    1x connector, push to release
  32. Disconnect 12V battery negative terminal
    Note
    1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm
  33. Raise vehicle fully, lower lift onto locks
    Note
    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Ensure an audible click of locks on both sides is heard before lowering, Vehicle may tilt to side if both locks are not engaged
  34. Remove RH shear plate
    Note
    3x screws, T25, 6 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, 2x push clips, 1x nyloc nut, 15mm, 35 Nm, Discard nylon nut after removal
  35. Remove LH shear plate
    Note
    3x screws, T25, 6 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, 2x push clips, 1x nyloc nut, 15mm, 35 Nm, Discard nylon nut after removal
  36. Remove rear aero shield
    Note
    20x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 2x push clips
  37. Remove rear diffuser
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm, 2x bolts, T30, 3 Nm, 4x push clips, 13x tabs, Remove hardware, then pull diffuser rearwards to release tabs
  38. Place coolant catcher underneath onboard charger
  39. Install coolant hose clamp onto coolant outlet hose
  40. Remove coolant hose from charger, allow coolant to drain, and plug charger opening
    Note
    Protect 12V logic connector and harness from potential coolant ingress
  41. Disconnect 12V logic connector from charger
    Note
    1x connector
  42. Remove nuts securing charger to underbody
    Note
    2x nuts, 13mm, 9 Nm
  43. Remove coolant drain container from underneath vehicle
  44. Lower vehicle and set lift onto locks
    Note
    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered
  45. Remove warranty label from charger cover panel if present
    Note
    A new replacement label will not be installed
  46. Remove all items from pockets and ensure not wearing metal items
    Note
    This includes: rings, watches, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, piercings, phones, badges, metal belt buckles, airpods and headphones
  47. Inspect HV insulating gloves
    Note
    Check gloves for damage prior to use, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003, for information on inspecting HV gloves. https://service.tesla.com/en-US/documents
  48. Put on HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves
    Note
    Use HV cut resistant insulated gloves or HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves, Perform a visual inspection of HV insulating gloves for any damage before putting on, Retest for leaks immediately following any incidents that can reasonably be suspected as causing damage to the HV insulating gloves, HV Insulating gloves must be worn any time a Hioki Tester or Hi-Pot Tester is used, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003 for PPE requirements depending on vehicle configurationhttps://service.tesla.com/en-US/documents
  49. Remove charger access panel
    Note
    11x patch bolts, T20, 2 Nm, Discard after removal, Make sure to wear proper PPE
  50. Open charger small access door
    Note
    2x tabs
  51. Verify no high voltage
    Note
    Measure B+ to B-, B+ to ground, and B- to ground, Make sure to wear proper PPE, Verify you are using a proper ground and not a coated surface, If voltage is greater than 10V, Pack contactors are not open or welded, Stop work escalate a toolbox session for assistance
  52. Remove bolts securing rapid splitter HV cables to charger
    Note
    2x patch bolts, T30, 6 Nm, Discard after removal
  53. Release tabs and open large access door
    Note
    3x tabs
  54. Remove nuts securing charge port cables
    Note
    4x nuts, 10mm, 6 Nm
  55. Close small access door
    Note
    2x tabs
  56. Use a dummy plug or tape to cover the opening for the charger access panel
  57. Release tabs and remove rear pair of HV cables from charger
    Note
    4x tabs, Release tabs and pull cables up and out of charger, Cables may have to be turned slightly to release from charger
  58. Release tabs and remove rear pair of HV cables from charger
    Note
    4x tabs, Release tabs and pull cables up and out of charger, Cables may have to be turned slightly to release from charger
  59. Plug holes in top of charger where HV cables were installed
    Note
    4x plugs
  60. Disconnect rear PTC heater
    Note
    1x connector, Release locking tab, If equipped
  61. Connect KET dummy plug connector onto charge rear PTC HV outlet
    Note
    1x dummy plug
  62. Release PTC harness barrel clips from D-pillar and charger bolt studs
    Note
    2x barrel clips, Set cable aside
  63. Remove ground strap from D-pillar
    Note
    1x bolt, 10mm, 9 Nm
  64. Remove ground strap from charger
    Note
    1x bolt, T30, 6 Nm
  65. Install coolant hose clamp pliers onto coolant inlet hose
  66. Disconnect hose from top of charger
    Note
    1x hose clamp, Place absorbent material around hose to catch any spilled coolant
  67. Remove bolts securing the charger upper mounting brackets to the body
    Note
    2x patch bolts, 10mm, 12 Nm, Discard after removal
  68. Lift charger up and remove fasteners securing HV cables from rapid splitter to bottom of charger
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm, Discard after removal
  69. Remove rapid splitter HV cables from charger
    Note
    2x tabs, Release tabs then pull cables out
  70. Remove charger from vehicle
    Note
    Recommend assistance, use shop towel to clean any coolant spill
  71. Foldback LH wheelhouse absorber
    Note
    Lift up LH wheelhouse absorber to gain access to air extractor
  72. Remove LH air extractor shroud
    Note
    2x clips
  73. Release LH air extractor clips
    Note
    4x clips
  74. Remove clip and bolts securing RH rear fender garnish and arch liner
    Note
    2x push clips, 2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm
  75. Partially release LH rear fender garnish from rear fascia
    Note
    3x clips, 7 tabs
  76. Remove screw securing LH rear fascia to quarter panel
    Note
    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm
  77. Partly remove LH rear fascia from quarter panel
    Note
    12x tabs
  78. Pull back LH rear fascia to gain access
    Note
    Carefully pull back LH rear fascia frim quarter to gain access to LH air extractor
  79. Remove LH air extractor
    Note
    Pull air extractor out and away from body
  80. Verify operation of vehicles charging system.

Install

  1. Install LH air extractor
    Note
    2x clips, Press firmly into body to secure clips
  2. Install LH rear fascia to vehicle
    Note
    12x clips
  3. Install screw securing LH rear fascia to quarter panel
    Note
    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm
  4. Install LH rear fender garnish onto rear fascia
    Note
    3x clips, 7 tabs
  5. Install clip securing LH rear fender garnish and arch liner
    Note
    4x push clips, 2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm
  6. Install LH air extractor shroud
    Note
    2x clips, align clips and push shroud in to secure
  7. Resecure LH wheelhouse absorber
  8. Place charger into vehicle so HV cables can be installed
  9. Release tabs and open small access door
    Note
    2x tabs
  10. Install rapid splitter HV cables onto charger
    Note
    2x tabs, Make sure to insert cables into correct cavity then secure tabs, Shorter positive cable closest to access panel, Longer negative cable furthest from access panel
  11. Install fasteners securing rapid splitter cables to charger
    Note
    2x patch bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm
  12. Install charger onto upper mountingbrackets and torque bolts
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 12 Nm
  13. Install ground strap to charger
    Note
    1x bolt, 10mm, 6 Nm
  14. Install ground strap to D-pillar
    Note
    1x bolt, 10mm, 9 Nm
  15. Remove PTC dummy plug
    Note
    1x plug
  16. Secure PTC harness barrel clips to D-pillar and charger bolt studs
    Note
    2x barrel clips
  17. Connect rear PTC heater
    Note
    1x connector, Secure locking tab, If equipped
  18. Release tabs and open small access door
    Note
    2x tabs
  19. Release tabs and open large access door
    Note
    3x tabs
  20. Install front pair of HV cables into charger and secure tabs
    Note
    4x tabs, Cables may have to be turned slightly to fit into charger
  21. Install rear pair of HV cables into charger and secure tabs
    Note
    4x tabs, Cables may have to be turned slightly to fit into charger
  22. Install nuts securing charge port cables
    Note
    4x nuts, 10mm, 6 Nm
  23. Install bolts securing rapid splitter HV cables to charger
    Note
    2x patch bolts, T30, 6 Nm, Install new bolts, Position cables then install bolts
  24. Close charger large access door
    Note
    3x tabs
  25. Close small access door
    Note
    2x tabs
  26. Install charger access panel
    Note
    11x patch bolts, T20, 2 Nm, Install new patch bolts
  27. Connect coolant inlet hose to charger
    Note
    1x clamp
  28. Remove hose clamp pliers from CHG inlet hose
  29. Raise vehicle fully, lower lift onto locks
    Note
    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Ensure an audible click of locks on both sides is heard before lowering, Vehicle may tilt to side if both locks are not engaged
  30. Install nuts securing charger to underbody
    Note
    2x nuts, 13mm, 9 Nm
  31. Connect 12V logic connector to charger
    Note
    1x connector
  32. Connect coolant outlet hose to charger
    Note
    1x clamp
  33. Remove hose clamp pliers from outlet hose
  34. Install rear diffuser
    Note
    2x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm, 2x bolts, T30, 3 Nm, 4x push clips,13x tabs, Secure diffuser tabs first, Install remaining hardware
  35. Install mid aero shield
    Note
    20x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 2x push clips
  36. Install RH shear plate
    Note
    3x screws, T25, 6 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, 2x push clips, Install new nyloc nut, 15mm, 35 Nm
  37. Install LH shear plate
    Note
    3x screws, T25, 6 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, 2x push clips, Install new nyloc nut, 15mm, 35 Nm
  38. Torque mid aero shield bolts
    Note
    20x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm
  39. Lower vehicle
    Note
    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height
  40. Connect First Responder Loop and 12V battery negative terminal
    Note
    1x connector, 1x nut, 10mm, 5 Nm
  41. Remove coolant reservoir cap
    Note
    1x cap
  42. Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary
    Note
    Ensure coolant is filled using G-48 coolant
  43. Run ODIN routine PROC_ICE_X_ENTER-SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox:(link)
  44. Perform coolant air purge
    Note
    via Panels > Thermal > Coolant Air Purge, Select blue ''Play'' button, Per current FRT (18300000) 0.15 hrs, Monitor and top off fluid as required
  45. Perform coolant air purge

    via Panels > Thermal > Coolant Air Purge, Select blue ''Play'' button, Per current FRT (18300000) 0.15 hrs, Monitor and top off fluid as required
  46. Reinstall LH rear charger duct
    Note
    Secure to plastic ducts at top and bottom
  47. Install LH rear minion bracket
    Note
    2x push clips
  48. Install LH Parcel Shelf Support
    Note
    1x nut, 8mm, 1.25 Nm, 1x bolt, 10mm, 2.5 Nm, 3x push clips, 1x edge clip, Secure edge clip for charge port release cable, then position and install hardware
  49. Install LH trunk side trim
    Note
    3x clips, Slide panel down into position, then connect 12V outlet, Secure clips at top of panel, Position rear edge of panel and feed trunk tie down through, Fully seat carpet surrounding trunk nub
  50. Install Calamari assembly to LH trunk side trim
    Note
    6x tabs, Seat outboard tabs first, then front and back, then inboard for easiest installation
  51. Install 3rd row seat LH side cover
    Note
    3x tabs, Position top section next to seat, then secure lower tabs
  52. Install LH rear upper C-pillar
    Note
    3x screws, T20, 3 Nm, 1x bolt, T25, 3 Nm
  53. Install screw securing LH C-pillar mid trim
    Note
    1x screw, T20, 2 Nm
  54. Install rear load floor support
    Note
    4x push clips
  55. Install front lower carpet trim panel
    Note
    Secure 3rd row seat wiring harnesses to panel
  56. Install trunk board
  57. Install rear trunk sill trim
    Note
    4x clips, 2x patch bolts, T25, 2.5 Nm, Make sure to seat liftgate seal properly, Install new patch bolts
  58. Install LH trunk sill side trim
    Note
    4x clips, Make sure to seat liftgate seal properly
  59. Install RH trunk sill side trim
    Note
    4x clips
  60. Install rear load floor
  61. Fold LH 3rd row seat up
    Note
    Press button located on LH 3rd row seat back assembly near headrest, lift seat back into an upright position
  62. Close liftgate
  63. Install LH lower C-pillar
    Note
    10x clips, Secure inner clips and then clips along racetrack trim
  64. Install bolt securing front of LH C-pillar lower
    Note
    1x patch bolt, T25, 2.5 Nm
  65. Install LH welcome plate
    Note
    8x clips
  66. Move LH and RH 2nd row seat from easy entry position to regular upright seating position
    Note
    Slide seat track backwards by pushing towards rear of vehicle, Fold upper seat backwards until locked in an upright position
  67. Calibrate falcon doors via UI
    Note
    Via Controls > Calibrate, Required after 12V and FRL disconnect
  68. Select Finish once cooling system air purge has completed
    Note
    Top off coolant and reinstall coolant reservoir cap
  69. Install coolant reservoir cap
    Note
    1x cap
  70. Install HEPA filter housing
    Note
    Align opening on back of housing to HEPA filter outlet duct opening, *Note: There may or may not be a filter in housing based on vehicle configuration
  71. Install frunk assembly
    Note
    10x bolts, 10mm, 4 Nm, 10x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, Hand start all bolts first then tighten with tools
  72. Install frunk carpet
    Note
    2x connectors, Make sure that the carpet is attached beneath the seal
  73. Install under hood aprons
    Note
    4x aprons, 11x clips each, 3x datums First remove rear apron, Then remove LH and RH aprons, Last remove front apron
  74. Close hood
  75. close the trunk of the vehicle.
  76. Close both falcon doors
    Note
    Via center display > Controls > Falcon door icons
  77. Disconnect Toolbox from vehicle and install cubby
    Note
    1x connector, 2x clips, Ensure diagnostic cables are tucked into appropriate position then engage cubby
  78. Install MCU cubby tray
    Note
    2x clips, Ensure diagnostic cables are tucked into the appropriate position
  79. Close LH front door
