Only
technicians who have completed all required certification courses are permitted to
perform this procedure. Tesla recommends third party service provider technicians
undergo equivalent training before performing this procedure. For more information on
Tesla Technician requirements, or descriptions of the subject matter for third parties,
see HV Certification Requirements. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and insulating HV
gloves with a minimum rating of class 0 (1000V) must
be worn at all times a high voltage cable, busbar, or fitting is handled. Refer to Tech Note TN-15-92-003, High Voltage Awareness

for additional safety
information.
Procedure
- Place the vehicle on the 2-post lift.
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the active grille shutter. See Active Grille Shutter (Remove and Replace).

Remove the radiator and set it aside. See Radiator (Non-Heat Pump) (Remove and Replace).
NoteNo need to disconnect the radiator hoses. Be careful not to damage them.NoteEnsure to have enough space to clean the condenser. Place the protective pad properly to prevent damage to the radiator or other components.

Use a vacuum to clean the dirt on the
radiator.
NoteIf necessary, remove the large debris.

Use a blow gun to clean the dirt on
the radiator again.
NoteDo not get too close to the radiator blades.NoteDust and debris may fly out during the process; make sure to wear proper PPE for protection, such as a mask, safety glasses, etc.

Use a vacuum to clean the dirt on the condenser.
NoteIf necessary, remove the large debris.

Use a blow gun to clean the dirt on the condenser again.
NoteDo not get too close to the condenser blades.NoteDust and debris may fly out during the process; make sure to wear proper PPE for protection, such as a mask, safety glasses, etc.

Release the side tabs (x4) that secure the condenser to the cooling fan.

Separate the condenser and the cooling fan.
NotePlace the condenser in a certain position to prevent the condenser from being damaged.

Use a blow gun to clean the bottom of cooling fan.
NoteAvoid moving debris onto the fan.
- Inspect the bottom of the cooling fan for debris.
- Position the condenser onto the cooling fan.

Install the side tabs (x4) that secure the condenser to the cooling fan.

Move the radiator to original position.
NoteBe careful to move the radiator hose during process.

- Install the active grille shutter. See Active Grille Shutter (Remove and Replace).
- Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
- Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
- Remove the vehicle from the lift.
