In the event of an airbag or seatbelt pretensioner deployment, certain components must be replaced, and other components must be inspected for damage. Refer to the Collision Repair Manual for a specific list of items that must be inspected and replaced.

Retirer

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See .
  3. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See #GUID-E1DDEA4B-6FBC-438D-997F-B3BD26910740.
  4. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See #GUID-2B48046D-F15C-4E02-B2C9-82D80BB25389.
  5. Remove the lower portion of the LH front door seal from the body.
  6. Remove the LH front seat harness guide from the body.
  7. Move the front seats fully forward.
  8. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Tablier sous le capot - arrière (retirez et remplacez).
  9. Débranchez l’alimentation 12 V. Voir Alimentation 12 V/BT (déconnectez et connectez).
  10. Insérez la clé de libération de la ceinture de sécurité (1133787-00-A) dans le bas de l’accouplement du prétendeur de la ceinture de sécurité pour libérer la ceinture de sécurité du prétendeur.
  11. Remove the LH upper B-pillar trim. See Garniture – montant central – supérieure – gauche (retirez et remplacez).
  12. Release the 2nd row seat cushion. See Coussin de siège - inférieur - appuie-tête - 2e rangée (retirez et remplacez).
  13. Partially remove the lower portion of the LH rear door seal.
  14. Remove the LH lower C-pillar trim. See .
  15. Remove the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Garniture - montant B - inférieur - gauche (Ensemble non-structurel) (retirez et remplacez)
  16. Remove and discard the bolts that attach the seat belt webbing guide to the B-pillar, and then remove the guide from the B-pillar.
    Tip
    L'un ou plusieurs des outils suivants sont recommandés :
    • Douille de 8mm
  17. Remove and discard the patchbolt that attaches the upper D-ring to the top loop.
    Tip
    L'un ou plusieurs des outils suivants sont recommandés :
    • Douille Torx T50
  18. Remove and discard the patchbolt that attaches the seat belt retractor to the base of the B-pillar.
    Tip
    L'un ou plusieurs des outils suivants sont recommandés :
    • Douille profonde à 12 pans de 13 mm
  19. Disconnect the electrical harness from the seat belt retractor connectors (x2).
    Note
    For better access to the connectors, the retractor can be removed from the B-pillar first.
  20. Remove the LH front seatbelt from the vehicle.

Installer

  1. Install the LH front seatbelt into the vehicle.
  2. Connect the electrical harness to the seat belt retractor connectors (x2).
  3. Install a new patchbolt to attach the seat belt retractor to the base of the B-pillar.
    40 Nm (29.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    L'un ou plusieurs des outils suivants sont recommandés :
    • Douille profonde à 12 pans de 13 mm
  4. Install a new patchbolt to attach the upper D-ring to the top loop.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    L'un ou plusieurs des outils suivants sont recommandés :
    • Douille Torx T50
  5. Install the seat belt webbing guide to the B-pillar, and then install new bolts that attach the guide to the B-pillar.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    L'un ou plusieurs des outils suivants sont recommandés :
    • Douille de 8mm
  6. Install the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Garniture - montant B - inférieur - gauche (Ensemble non-structurel) (retirez et remplacez)
  7. Install the LH lower C-pillar trim. See .
  8. Install the lower portion of the LH rear door seal that was partially removed.
  9. Install the 2nd row seat cushion. See Coussin de siège - inférieur - appuie-tête - 2e rangée (retirez et remplacez).
  10. Install the LH upper B-pillar trim. See Garniture – montant central – supérieure – gauche (retirez et remplacez).
  11. Install the LH front seatbelt pretensioner coupling onto the LH front seat pretensioner.
    Note
    Perform a pull-push-pull test to verify the pretensioner and coupling are fully engaged.
    Warning

  12. Branchez l’alimentation 12 V. Voir Alimentation 12 V/BT (déconnectez et connectez).
  13. Install the rear underhood apron. See Tablier sous le capot - arrière (retirez et remplacez).
  14. Move the front seats fully rearward.
  15. Install the LH front seat harness guide to the body.
  16. Install the lower portion of the LH front door seal to the body.
  17. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See #GUID-2B48046D-F15C-4E02-B2C9-82D80BB25389.
  18. Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See #GUID-E1DDEA4B-6FBC-438D-997F-B3BD26910740.
  19. Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See .
  20. Perform a pull test on the belt to ensure proper installation. Pull webbing up with force to ensure the pretensioner coupler was properly installed. Next, pull out all the webbing from the retractor. Webbing should smoothly retract after you have pulled it all out. Lastly, quickly tug at the webbing in a downward motion, retractor should lock.
  21. Close the LH doors and raise the LH windows.
