Site Controller Software Update Stuck in "Staging Update" State

Symptoms

The unit remains in the "Staging Update" state for more than 20 minutes.

Steps to Troubleshoot

  1. Confirm the commissioning phone is still connected to the Backup Gateway 2 / Powerwall+ / Solar Inverter Wi-Fi network.
  2. Navigate back to the Networking page and select Test Connection to ensure the configured internet connection is functioning.
  3. Wait an additional 5 minutes to give the system another chance to self-resolve.
  4. Restart the system:
    • If the system is installed with Backup Gateway, push and hold the Gateway Reset button for 5 seconds (1 below).

    • If the system is installed with Powerwall+, turn the Enable switch OFF then ON.
    • If the system has only Solar Inverter, turn the Solar Inverter breaker OFF then ON.
  5. If the issue persists, contact Tesla Support.
