Correction code 13070107002 0.96 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the correction code and FRT listed above reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Do not stack correction codes unless explicitly told to do so. NOTE: See Flat Rate Times to learn more about FRTs and how they are created. NOTE: See Personal Protection to make sure you are wearing proper PPE when performing the procedure below. NOTE: See Ergonomic Precautions for safe and healthy working practices.

1. Open the LH front door.
2. Lower both LH side windows

   

3. Remove LH mid A pillar assembly
   Note

   1x clip, 1x tab, Release upper clip then pull mid A pillar upward to remove

   

4. Remove clip securing LH lower A pillar trim
   Note

   1x push clip

   

5. Remove LH lower A pillar trim
   Note

   6x clips, 2 guide tabs, Pull rear of lower A pillar upward to release clip then pull rearward to release trim panel

   

6. Partially release LH front primary door seal

   

7. Remove clip securing LH front cabin carpet to body
   Note

   1x push clip

   

8. Pull LH front cabin carpet away from A-pillar to access LH front seat connector

   

9. Move LH front seat forward

   

10. Release LH front seat belt retractor from pretensioner
    Note

    Insert seat belt tool into the bottom of the retractor to release

    

11. Open LH rear door

    

12. Remove LH front seat rear fasteners
    Note

    2x patch bolts, TP45, 33.5 Nm, Discard after removal

    

13. Move LH front seat backward
    Note

    Ensure profile is saved to allow seat position to be restored

    

14. Remove LH front seat front fasteners
    Note

    2x patch bolts, TP45, 33.5 Nm, Discard after removal

    

15. Adjust position of LH front seat for easy removal
    Note

    Move seat to middle of track at most upright position

    

16. Open the hood.

    

17. Remove the rear apron.

    

    

18. Remove HEPA filter assembly
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Pivot rearward edge up and past brake reservoir, Then lift up to clear frunk assembly, Note: Not all Model Y vehicles have a HEPA filter assembly installed

    

    

    

19. Power off vehicle from center display
    Note

    Via Controls > Safety > Power Off, Select Power Off button at warning dialogue box

    

    

20. Disconnect LV battery and First Responder Loop
    Note

    2x connectors, Release green locking tab, Press black tab then pull black connector lock outwards to release connection, Release red lock tab on FRL, Allow 2 minutes for all electrical circuits to fully discharge

    

    

    

    

21. Disconnect LH front seat harness from VC left
    Note

    1x electrical connector, Release the lock by squeezing the release tab, Then fully disengage the lock by moving it away from the VC left, Do not force the connector, If the connector does not easily release from the VC the lock is still engaged

    

    

22. Release seat harness clips
    Note

    3x clips, after releasing clips remove from harness and keep for installation step

    

    

    

23. Tilt seat back
    Note

    Rest the seat against the 2nd row bench

    

24. Remove seat harness from clips
    Note

    2x clips, without removing clips cut and remove zip ties to release harness

    

25. Remove LH front seat from vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance, Assistant should be ready to support seat back, Caution not to damage any trim

    

    

26. Remove screw securing outer side cover to seat
    Note

    1x screw, T20, 4 Nm, Ensure the front of the seat is high enough to access the T20 screw

    

27. Release outer side cover clip from seat, but do not remove
    Note

    1x clip, Do not fully remove, possible damage to the trim/switch pack/harness

    

28. Disconnect seat switch connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

29. Slide outer cover rearward to release clip from frame and lift up over pretensioner to remove
    Note

    1x clip

    

30. Remove inner side shield from seat
    Note

    3x clips, Release side clip from seat bottom frame, Then pull up on rear of trim to remove

    

    

31. Rotate seat to gain access to underside of the seat
    Note

    Protect seat cushion from damage

    

32. Unhook straps for lower section of seat back and move seat back flap away from underside of seat
    Note

    2x clips, need assistance

    

33. Disconnect the seat cushion heat pad
    Note

    1x connector

    

34. Remove heat pad connector from seat cushion suspension
    Note

    1x connector, 1x clip, Slide connector forward to release from seat bottom

    

    

    

35. Disconnect seat cushion heat pad from seat back heat pad connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

36. Remove seat cushion connector from seat cushion suspension
    Note

    Slide upward to release from trim

    

37. Disconnect the seat occupied sensor
    Note

    1x connector

    

38. Remove seat occupancy sensor from seat bottom
    Note

    1x clip, Release the sensor from the seat frame by depressing the retaining clip and pulling the sensor away

    

    

39. Remove seat cushion retaining clips from the seat suspension
    Note

    2x clips

    

40. Remove front retaining clip from seat cushion frame securing front of seat trim to frame
    Note

    1x clip strip, May need to start with a hook tool, Pull the clip away from the frame to release

    

    

    

41. Remove inboard retaining clip from seat cushion frame securing side of seat trim to frame
    Note

    1x clip strip, May need to start with a hook tool, Pull the clip away from the frame to release

    

    

42. Remove outboard retaining clip from seat cushion frame securing side of seat trim to frame
    Note

    1x clip strip, May need to start with a hook tool, Pull the clip away from the frame to release

    

    

    

43. Remove cushion pad assembly from seat frame assembly
    Note

    Lift the cushion straight off, Ensure the heating pad and seat occupied sensor harnesses are clear of the seat frame

    

    

44. Release strap securing trim to foam
    Note

    1x clip

    

    

45. Remove cushion trim from foam
    Note

    Cut 5x hog rings, from the front side and 3x hog rings from back side

    

    

    

46. Remove cut hog rings pieces out of cushion foam
47. Install cushion trim on cushion foam
    Note

    Align the trim on the cushion and install 5x hog rings in the front side and 3x hog rings in the rear side and attach the Velcro tape .

    

    

    

48. Strap seat cushion trim to foam pad
    Note

    1x clip

    

49. Place the cushion pad assembly onto seat cushion frame for installation
    Note

    Insert the rear of the seat cushion to seat bottom frame, ensure rear portion of foam is seated over rear seat cushion rail, Ensure wiring harness are routed through the back of seat frame

    

    

    

50. Install the outboard seat trim retaining clip onto the seat frame
    Note

    1x clip strip, Fold the clip over towards the frame, The open end should engage the seat frame, if not the trim will need to be pulled until the correct amount of tension is achieved, Line up one end of the clip strip opening with the seat frame and press down until the clip is fully seated onto the frame

    

    

    

51. Install the inboard seat trim retaining clip onto the seat frame
    Note

    1x clip strip, Fold the clip over towards the frame, The open end should engage the seat frame, if not the trim will need to be pulled until the correct amount of tension is achieved, Line up one end of the clip strip opening with the seat frame and press down until the clip is fully seated onto the frame

    

    

    

52. Install the front seat trim retaining clip onto the seat frame
    Note

    1x clip strip, Fold the clip over towards the frame, The open end should engage the seat frame, if not the trim will need to be pulled until the correct amount of tension is achieved, Line up one end of the clip strip opening with the seat frame and press down until the clip is fully seated onto the frame

    

    

    

53. Install seat cushion retaining clips onto the seat suspension
    Note

    2x clips, The seat cushion and trim may need to be pulled tight for the hooks to achieve correct placement on the seat suspension

    

54. Install seat cushion heating pad connector onto cushion suspension
    Note

    1x connector

    

55. Connect seat cushion heating pad to seat back heating pad
    Note

    1x connector

    

56. Install heat pad connector to the seat frame
    Note

    1x connector

    

57. Connect the heat pad connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

58. Install the seat occupied sensor onto the seat frame
    Note

    1x clip

    

59. Connect the seat occupied sensor and install the clip onto the seat bottom
    Note

    1x connector, 1x retaining clip, Ensure harness is not routed between cushion and frame to avoid friction

    

60. Hook strap clips for seat back shell onto seat suspension
    Note

    2x clips, Ensure the straps are tight for proper fit and installation

    

61. Rotate seat to normal upright position

    

62. Install inner side shield cover onto RH front seat
    Note

    3x clips, Engage the clips at the rear of the trim by sliding the side shield forward into position and installing the forward retaining clip

    

    

63. Slide outer cover forward to engage clip into the frame and lift up over pretensioner to install
    Note

    1x clip

    

64. Connect seat switch connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

65. Install outer side cover clip to seat frame
    Note

    1x clip

    

66. Install screw securing outer side cover to seat
    Note

    1x screw, T20, 4 Nm

    

67. Install LH front seat into vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance, Assistant should be ready to support seat back, Caution not to damage any trim

    

    

68. Install seat harness to clips
    Note

    2x clips, route the harness via the clips and use new zip ties to secure it

    

69. Install seat harness
    Note

    Route the harness under cabin carpet

    

70. Install harness clips
    Note

    3x clips, use zip ties and tape to install the clips in the harness and then into their position

    

    

    

71. Tilt seat back
    Note

    Rest the seat against the 2nd row bench

    

72. Secure seat harness to clips
    Note

    2x clips, leave 290mm of harness slack from harness splice to first clip

    

    

73. Tilt seat down
    Note

    Place seat in position for installation

    

74. Connect LH front seat harness to VC left
    Note

    1x electrical connector, Ensure the connector and lock are fully engaged, Perform pull push pull test to ensure the connector and connector lock are seated

    

    

75. Fully seat LH front cabin carpet

    

76. Install clip securing LH front cabin carpet to body
    Note

    1x push clip

    

77. Install LH lower A-pillar trim
    Note

    6x clips, 2 locating pins, Align front locating pin first

    

78. Install clip securing LH lower A pillar trim
    Note

    1x push clip

    

79. Install LH mid A pillar assembly
    Note

    1x clip, 1x tab, Align the bottom tab then push the top clip to fully seat mid A pillar, Pull seal over trim

    

80. Reseat LH front door seal along lower A-pillar trim

    

81. Connect First Responder Loop and LV battery
    Note

    2x connectors, Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage green locking tab when fully seated

    

    

    

82. Install HEPA filter assembly
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm, Pivot forward edge down past frunk assembly, Then carefully move rear edge past brake reservoir and into position, Gently press on RH side of filter to seat seal onto duct, Note: Not all Model Y vehicles have a HEPA filter assembly installed

    

    

    

    

83. Install the rear apron.

    

    

84. Close the hood.

    

85. Move LH front seat backward

    

86. Install LH front seat front fasteners
    Note

    2x patch bolts, TP45, 33.5 Nm, Install new patch bolts

    

87. Move LH front seat forward

    

88. Install LH front seat belt retractor to pretensioner
    Note

    Slide the linkage onto the pretensioner cable, an audible click will be heard. Verify there are no twists in the webbing from the upper trim to the pretensioner. Perform a firm pull test to confirm pretensioner is engaged

    

89. Install LH front seat rear fasteners
    Note

    2x patch bolts, TP45, 33.5 Nm, Install new patch bolts

    

90. Close LH rear door

    

91. Move LH front seat to original position

    

92. Raise both LH side windows

    

93. Close LH front door
