Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and fully lower the LH front window.
  2. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the bolt that attaches the underhood storage unit to the washer fluid reservoir neck.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the HEPA filter assembly to the vehicle, and then remove the assembly from the vehicle.

    Note
    Pivot the rear edge of the assembly upward to clear the brake reservoir, and then lift the assembly upward to clear the underhood storage unit.

    • 10 mm socket

Install

  1. To position the HEPA filter assembly for installation, place the forward edge of the filter assembly under the underhood storage unit, and then carefully move the rear edge of the filter assembly past the brake fluid reservoir.
  2. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the HEPA filter assembly to the vehicle.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Pivot the forward edge down past the frunk assembly, and then carefully move the rear edge past the brake reservoir and into position. Gently press on the RH side of filter to seat seal onto duct. Rework requires new bolts.

  3. Install the bolt that attaches the underhood storage unit to the washer fluid reservoir neck.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

  4. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  5. Perform the following steps to record the HEPA maintenance details and reset the filter health score:
    1. Enable Service Mode. See Service Mode.
    2. In the Service Mode menu, touch Controls (vehicle icon) > Service > Maintenance > HEPA Filter Replacement > Record > Confirm to record the maintenance details and reset the HEPA filter health score.
  6. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
