Carpet - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)

Warning
Seat base edges are sharp and can cause personal injury. Wear cut resistant gloves when removing the seat from the vehicle, and while performing procedures that involve work on or near the seat base.

Remove

  1. Open all doors and lower all windows.
  2. Move the steering column to the high and most inward position.
  3. Remove the driver footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Partially release the LH front primary door seal.
  6. Remove the push clip that attaches the LH front cabin carpet to the body.
  7. Pull the LH front cabin carpet away from the A-pillar to access the LH front seat connector.
  8. Remove and discard the patch bolts (x4) that secure the front seat. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the center console. See Center Console (Remove and Install).
  10. Release the LH front seat harness bracket from body (3x clips, 1 datum).

    Note
    The datum goes through the access hole on the LH lower B-pillar.
  11. Pull the LH front seat harness from the under LH front cabin carpet.
  12. Use cloth to cover the rear seat to prevent damages.
  13. Tilt the LH front seat backwards. Pay attention not to touch the steering wheel.
  14. Release the push clips (x3) that attach the LH front carpet to the body, and then remove the LH front carpet from the vehicle.

    Lift the rear edge of the carpet, and then slide the carpet out rearward.

    CAUTION
    Be careful not to catch the foam underneath the carpet on the seat risers.

Install

  1. Install the push clips (x3) that attach the LH front carpet to the body.
  2. Position the LH front seat and remove the seat protection cloth.
  3. Install the center console. See Center Console (Remove and Install).
  4. Install the LH front seat harness bracket to the body (3x clips, 1 datum).

  5. Pull the LH front cabin carpet away from the A-pillar to access the LH front seat connector.
  6. Install the push clip that attaches the LH front cabin carpet to the body.
  7. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Reseal the LH front primary door seal.
  9. Connect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  10. Install new patch bolts (x4) that secure the front seat. See Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the driver footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  12. Move the steering column to original position.
  13. Close all doors and raise all windows.
