Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the unused portion of the service part (shown in red) to create the new component.
  2. Remove the necessary portion of the Mast Assembly (Sections) to expose the underlying component being replaced.
  3. Remove the original component.

    Note
    When drilling out spot welds, use a drill bit that creates a hole correctly sized for the fastener that will replace the spot weld.
  4. Prepare for installation.

    A red X indicates a location where a factory-installed fastener is not being replaced.
    or Structural Rivets, 6.5 mm Short
    • A = 86 mm.
    • B = 11 mm.

    or Countersunk Rivets, 4.8 mm Long

  5. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.
  6. Install the new component or components.
  7. Install the portion of the Mast Assembly (Sections) that was removed to expose the component being replaced.
  8. Install the fasteners as indicated.
    or Structural Rivets, 6.5 mm Short
    • C = 156 mm.
    • D = 62 mm.
  9. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
