Rear Under Body (Frame Rail Section)

Correction code: 10102001602 10102001902 NOTE: Unless explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code includes all Collision Repair and Service repair work required to perform this procedure, including the linked Collision Repair procedures and linked Service procedures. Do not stack Collision Repair correction codes unless explicitly told to do so. Depending on the damage to the vehicle, additional repairs may be required.

Repair Procedure

  1. Remove the Tailgate Latch and Striker - LH Body - Side Hinge, Tailgate (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the Strut Damper - Tailgate (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the Striker - Tailgate (Remove and Install).
  4. Remove the Tow Hitch (Remove and Install).
  5. Remove the Wheel Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
  6. Remove the Bed Side Outer Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
  7. Remove the Stabilizer Bar - Rear (Remove and Install).
  8. Remove the original component.

    Note
    If the Rear Under Body is damaged forward of the raised cut line, sectioning is not allowed and the entire component must be replaced.

    Note
    Cut to the rear of the raised cast cut line on the original component, then trim the original component until the service part fits to the correct dimensions (measured using the frame bench). The maximum allowed gap between the new component and the original component is 3 mm.
  9. Prepare for installation.

  10. Apply structural adhesive to the mating surfaces on the vehicle and the new component or components.

    Use structural adhesive to fill all gaps between the new component and the original component.
  11. Install the new component or components.
  12. Install the Tailgate Tower.
  13. Install the Rear Fascia Bracket.
  14. Install the Sail Datum Bracket.
  15. Perform any necessary post-repair operations.
  16. Install the Stabilizer Bar - Rear (Remove and Install).
  17. Install the Bed Side Outer Assembly - LH (Remove and Install).
  18. Install the Wheel Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Install).
  19. Install the Tow Hitch (Remove and Install).
  20. Install the Striker - Tailgate (Remove and Install).
  21. Install the Strut Damper - Tailgate (Remove and Install).
  22. Install the Tailgate Latch and Striker - LH Body - Side Hinge, Tailgate (Remove and Install).
